I wanna go to the chinese buffet

Damnit, this is the second time in two days someone has mentioned Chinese food in my "presence." I'm starting to get the urge...

I have the urge almost daily. There's a nice little buffet here in Overland Park that charges $4.50 for all you can eat.

It's a nice place, but a bit strange. Sometimes we see a Mexican guy replenishing the buffet. We've decided he must be Mexicanese. The food there is great! Sometimes they have Octopus, which to me didn't sound that appetizing, but it's not those boiled baby Octos you see in some places that are very rubbery and difficult to chew. It's cut up Octopus, marinated and cooked to a delicate and tasty brown.

Hot and Sour soup is my favorite soup. Good stuff. Oh, come on down and I'll buy.

Sweet!

Dumpling. Lots and lots of dumplings please. :cattail:

Since I found a chinese who doesn't use glutamates, I'm spoiled.

This has become an issue. We've got someone with a minor allergy to the stuff in the house, and our local take-out place uses it. The closest buffet is not so heavy-handed, thankfully.

As in Overland Park, Kansas??? If so, I've totally been to that place! It's been a few years, but it was yummy when I was there.

And yes, I've talked a coworker into getting Chinese on the way in to work today, so yay! :D

On the way IN to work? Chinese for breakfast?

Yes, Overland Park, KS is in Johnson county, KS. I don't know if it is any more, but it use to be the 3rd richest county in the whole U.S. It's a suburb of Kansas City, MO, but on the Kansas side of the line.

One little side note about Overland Park, KS. This shows how stuck up they can be. All of the shops and stores in the city must be beige, per city ordnance. There was once a White Castle in Overland Park, and they actually had to sue the city to be able to paint their store white. Of course they won, but it was touch and go for a while. Ever heard of Beige Castle?

Another thing about Overland Park is every home in the city limits of Overland Park is required to have a shake shingle roof. A composite roof is not allowed, per city ordnance.

But, there is some good Chinese buffet in Overland Park!:D:D <==look like Chinese waitress?

I don't know how Chinese women are really but they seem submissive. Quiet, catlike, graceful, and very respectful. And they are usually very thin with small breasts. I've always found that more attractive than a curvy buxom woman. Though I did learn to appreciate that type over the years.

There is a small Chinese buffet right down the street from my work. $5 for all you can eat? hellya is a favorite place of state workers. Also a favorite eating place for the Mexican population.

Chit, mon! The cheapest Chinese buffet in the Knoxville area is $9 a head ($7.50 for lunch), not including drinks (even soda). I get my money's worth, though... Almost everything I eat is meat/chicken/seafood, very few veggies (except sauteed mushrooms - gotta have em!), no rice, a small bowl of eggdrop, preferably with a wonton or two.

I went in late today, at about 11 a.m. That's perfectly respectable Chinese time! It was really good, too. Chinese food in general is exceptionally expensive over here, at least if you want something edible that won't give you food poisoning, so discovering a place that charged only 6.50 euro for lunch (plus drink) was awesome!

The reason I know Overland Park is I lived (or more like had extended visits to) at Ft. Leavenworth for a while. No, there were no prisons involved in the reasoning for me being there, but we did live within a mile of three major prisons, and a prisoner escaped while we lived there. They caught him quickly, though. But yeah, Kansas City's a nice little place, as long as you know what side of town to stay on.

I would be afraid I am eating a cat, or dog, or a rat in Chinese Restaurant!!!

Not a place for me.

They have shrimp in this sweet coating that probably has a million calories but it's so good. And I like broccoli and chicken. And crab ragoon. Stop tempting me you evil ones.
