The problem is that actually deporting illegals has put a damper on illegals coming over the border and now there aren't enough remittances going back home for Mexico to be able to afford to pay for it.

On the plus side, the new construction boom seems to have a lot of English speaking workers doing "the jobs American's don't want." Probably a bunch of illegal Canadians.

On a serious note I guess we can add two column accounting to the long list of subjects that you don't know anything about. In order to build anything you have to have an Appropriations bill. That appropriation bill has to be funded out of the general fund. What you put into the general fund to offset that could very well come from tarrifs, use vharges or fees or any other method that you choose to bring those funds in. The money still has to go through Congress.

In theory the president has no slush funds to pay for such things. Even though course the Obama Administration did so illegally by extorting money out of companies using EPA and then spending that money that they had no right to appropriate and spend on their pet projects through the EPA.

Now if you're in favor of giving Trump King like powers that nobody seemed to mind Obama taking for himself then I'm sure it will work just fine the way you seem to think it should. Trump sends an invoice to Mexico and then writes checks to various Workman to build a wall.
