My wife's parents met through just such an agency! After the war her dad needed a woman to look after the two kids he had been left with when she died. Being Catholic they stayed together all their life even though the relationship was awful.

But that marriage has led to seven grandchildren.

I'm back in Scotland and it is sunny as hell here as well. I'm feeling a little better, I'm taking lots of medication and stuff so I'm somewhere between counting pills, feeling drowsy and trying to revise.
How are you doing?

I've been in England for a few days and have returned to Scotland till the weekend. This is my first quiet day for ages. So I'm indulging in thread-reading.
It must be difficult studying while under medication.

Why don't you come to Uncle Vanya with me in Edinburgh this evening? I'm into Chekhov right now. It would be good for your Modern European studies, don't you think?

Would love to but I'm writing an exam until 5.00pm and then I plan to fall into bed straight away. I'm so totally knackered already and living on "Red Bull", Chocolate and Cigarettes. What a shame that we didn't meet earlier and that I'm leaving Scotland maybe for good in a few days.

I hope you do really well, Halo, in the exam today. You never know about meeting up. I keep meeting people who know people I know. In fact, I'm going to paticipate in one of those small world experiments - designed to show that we are all more closely in touch with each other than we imagine. I love my parents

My parents met through a singles dating group during the Korean War. They have just celebrated their 45th anniversary. I love my mom and dad more than anyone. I see such joy in their relationship. I hope my parents live longer than me.
