i have just been completely blown away by the party in the palace that was put on for our beloved queen

the royal family and the 12000 members of the public were gifted by the performances by

ozzy
phil collins
queen
ricky martin
eric clapton
the kinks
beach boys
rod stewart
cliff richard
tom jones
shirley basey

and a performance to blow any self respecting music critic away sir paul mccartney

the whole nation sang along to hey jude, blackbird and for harrison while my guitar gently weeps

i felt together with my nation for the first time since the passing away of the princess of wales

at the end the royals got on stage and charles thanked everyone and saluted his mother (while not even looking at her) the nation felt as a whole. it was a good speach to introduce her majesty and the nation awaited her thanks.

and with that she walked off without a thanks or anything to her nation

me and my friend felt cheeted after feeling at one with our nation and spending a moment to share with our monarchy

we had taken all our bad words back about her as the sensation was so strong

we feel cheated

up yours elizabeth

And fuck you Wizbit. You can't expect a 70-odd year old woman to make a speech to a 12,000 strong concert crowd...

Are you mad, man? Charles was uncomfortable enough (only a little bit) with the reactions. I doubt the Queen would have been a better speaker than he.

Thats your view when a once-in-a-lifetime live event goes stagnant for a little bit?

And you thought I was overreacting... :D

ok the abuse was a bit melodramatic

it was a good gig and i enjoyed it, bring on her 75th :D

I was angry

But I am glad that you did a retraction on your abuse of OUR Queen.

As someone who has served Queen and Country for 25 years and would have done another 25 had they let me...I am proud of our Queen.

I am in agreeance with Star...she is 72 this year, very hard to talk to a 12,000 strong rock (used loosely) concert audience.

God Save The Queen and Long May She Reign

Wiz...you were man enough to make the retraction...that proves you are a decent guy..have no fear mate. I guess it's guys like me who show 100% allegience (sp? allegiance?) to HRH tend to react to comments like yours...but as I said, you were man enough to retract and for that, I say Thank You.

I hate the whole concept of a monarchy. I have nothing personal against them as individuals (well maybe Prince Philip), but I wish they didn't have the elevated roles they have for reason of birth. I see nothing to celebrate, I can't think of anything the queen has done to benefit the general public in all her years of office.

They desperately need some fresh water in the gene pool. They look a little long in the tooth.

I've just read that she wore ear plugs...

throughout the concert...

She probably just didn't hear Charles say...

"Mater...you're on!"

:)

Too bad you can't do hostile takeovers of countries like you can companies. (without going to war) We'd buy England and get most of the purchase price back by selling the Royalty Crap to Disney.

well i thought charles did alright with dianna (fine specimin) so harry and will will probably help the genes find some tasty chick to get a prime specimin going

Get a history textbook, read what her parents did during a very difficult transition at a fragile time in world stability, gape your jaw at what her parents then did during the Blitz and then consider her amazingly gracious and humble speech at her elevation at a very tender age. Oh, and BTW, consider her grace under the pressure of her children's stunningly maladroit gaffes for the folowing 40 years, not to mention her uncle's ingenuous carping.

Crisis management is appreciated only while the crisis persists. Afterwards, people want to move on and shuck all reminders of everyone associated with the bad memories.

She is regal, her parents and grandparents were nobly regal, but I have serious doubts for the longevity of the monarchy unless they have the political adroitness to skip a generation. That would be taking a flyer on a wild speculation to avert certain disaster. How many ancient bureaucracies can manage that?

If the party was for the queen, shouldn't it have had entertainment the poor old lady could enjoy? A rock concert? Doesn't seem like a typical event for a 72 year old. No wonder she wore earplugs.

Chey......

She did have a concert she enjoyed..it was on the TV over here...The Gala Concert....opera, ballet and all that and I found it boring lol

So typical of a person with a FROG first name lol...

He has no idea that more tourists go to visit the Palace than anywhere else in Britain...but he does have the Freedom of Speech.

Long Live The Queen

QEII has little enthusiasm for or appreciation of music. Lately, the only music in which she's taken an active interest issued from the mouth of a plastic bass.
