indicates your musical enthusiasm and your musical knowledge.

How many music CD's do you own?

Me? Lost count - but about 4000 and still averaging 3 to 6 a month.

2500+ been buying them since 1985.

First Cd - Survivor "Vital Signs"

This doesn't include the custom CD's that I've been making for myself.

My musical enthusiasm and knowledge is superior to yours, because I know exactly how many music CD's I own - 674.

319 exactly...and I could never name them all, since I don't listen to half of them

About 1700. Still have about 700 vinyls too. Love the jackets.

Susan Tedeschi is awesome for.....

a person with only 2 CD's!!!!!

How the hell did you find out about this wonderful - way underplayed artist?

I mean - I think Kid Rock is a very shrewd man - he has my respect but Susan?

Virtually nobody knows of this young heiress to Bonnie Raits thrown.

A lack of CDs in a collection could indicate the fact that some of us are chronically poor. :p

Ok, we definitely don't have room for those.

:p

True - a bit.

But I've been poor - quite a few time - and to me, it all depends where your priorities lie.......

When I gave up higher education - I bought an old, oil guzzlin' VW beetle for $100 to make the trip from UGA (Athens GA) to my home (then and now) in DC - it had to hold all my worldly possesions - my one guitar, my meger wardrobe, and my, I guess about a thousand LP's.

Believe me - if you really love music - really love it - it becomes an addiction (as it is to me) - it ruins relationships with those who 'don't understand' as it has with me - you get in trouble because you sneak away 'food money' and buy music or guitars, as I have. In effect - you are a musician - as I am.

Money does not matter - music matters. If yer lucky enough to turn your passion into a profesion (as I kinda have) then all the better. More money - more music.

That is all.

Should I include the ones that I lost or got stolen? I got a couple of hundred. I love music- just like what I like.

you're right. It's just not important to me. Owning music, owning anything, really. It's nice, but not important.

'Owning,' has not one thing to do with it.....

Love, passion and knowledge have everything to do with it.

Music CD's - just like books - are knowledge in a sleeve. You can get them many ways - the library - people can give them to you - you can steal them........

I just happen to be passionate enough to divert finances toward and fortunate enough to buy them. Which I do. And have no problem with it.

About 180 in the changer and maybe twice that besides, so maybe like 600 or so. Old vinyl, maybe 100 survived.

Well if OWNING has nothing to do with it, I have a good load of MP3s. *Laughs.* Less than, you, Sparky, have CDs... but alas. I don't have an equivalent passion for it.

Any suggestions anyone wants to make? :p

I have a huge one!

I have been collecting music since 1965.I have approximately 11,000 CDs,200,000 Albums,75,000 45's& EP's,8,000 cassettes,400 reel to reels,& last but not least-- 4,000 8tracks! 3 entire rooms(actually 21/2 & a fully equipped studio)
Everything's catalogged & videotaped --extra insurance a MUST!

Well I buy alot of cassettes and one day for no known reason I bought the 2000 grammy nominees one and she was on it.

It was instant love for my ex and so I had to get one. She is great but my kids dont like it. They say that her music is "old peoples" music.

Ten

But I don't listen to five of them. I don't want more than I can carry at one time. 'Sides, more than a mouthful is a waste.

Let's see before computers mabye 200 or 300 hundred
but since napster and bearshare + cd burner I lost count around 2000
