Lots of people in the USA feel that way about acronyms. They just hate the shorthand use of 'terms' such as NFL, UCLA, FBI, MIA, POW, NCAA, FDA, MLB, SUNY, CBS, NBC, PBS, TNN, ABC, and PC.
