I think I'd like to do a "by request" story

If you're interested this is what I would need.

First, you must have read all my stories here and liked them. This isn't to flatter me, but if you don't like my style or stories it seems sort of pointless.

Second, at least 200 words telling me what you want in the story, and why.

Finally, what category you think the story should be submitted to.

I also need to warn you that it might be quite some time before I write the story. There are two reasons for this. The first is I'm just starting work on my MBA and it's harder than I expected. The second is it generally takes me a couple of weeks for a story percolate before I'm ready to start on it. Once I start it normally takes about two weeks to write it and get through the editing process.

So, if you're still interested, drop me an email or PM and let me know what and why.

This may not be the best route for recieving story requests.

In my opinion, most people aren't interested in viewing lit as a homework assignment.

Instead, why not read some of the story ideas that are posted here, find one you're interested in, and offer to write it?

True, but...

ther are some folks out there who actually will pay to have a story written for them. I don't ever have a hope of being chosen, among other things I don't do sex scenes very well. The reason for asking that my other stories be read isn't homework or to get reads or votes. It's so the person I'd write for would know if they like my style and would have an idea of what to expect.

I have had people ask me to write a story for them, I just haven't had anyone suggest one that I thought I could do, or who gave me a way to contact them for more details.

Can I make another recommendation, then?

Rather then having them submit their request via a 200 word document, why not exchange yahoo/aim/msn and conduct an "interview." The few for-pay requests I've done were conducted this way, and it seemed like less work for both parties, I believe.

I'd pay to have you drawn and quartered. Do not disagree with goddess Bi. Or else. OR ELSE.

I don't do IM, I've tried and I just can't seem to make it work. I think I'm the only one my age who can't. Probably because I don't own a computer... or I'll blame it on language problems I never can figure out what all those initials mean... I think you have to be a native speaker for those to make sense. I'll blame it on anything except my intelligence, which is probably closer to the truth.

I don't want to get hung up on how they get me the info. I just assumed that was sort of the way it was done. Heck, just email me and I'll take it from there. Joesephus@gmail.com

BTW, I'm very impressed that you actually done that. Did you have fun writing?

Did we fall down a rabbit hole?

I wrote and then recorded. It was enjoyable. I'm sure you could actually find an audience for it as well...although, I believe it was slightly more appealing because I was willing to turn it into an audio, as well.

I hope I didn't come off as too condescending in previous posts. I hope that you are able to find someone you can write for.

Not at all...

You came across as someone who had experience offering advise. Right now, I'm working on a Halloween story... very early stages but I sort like it. Of cousre that's the way I always feel until my editor begins to tear apart my first draft. He's a gem and I feel lucky that he's willing to work with me.

At some point I'm going to want to discusss "Consequences" with you. The story is sticking with me. I don't like anyone in it, but it's such a different reaction than anything I've seen in the cheatin vein.

The queen of hearts, she baked some tarts, all on a summer's day.
The knave of hearts, he stole those tarts, and sold them on Ebay.
