Magic shaving stuff hates me

Remember I tried it before and it killed my inner thigh? And I swore I wouldn't try it again? Well I lied. I found the "sensative skin" formula and bought it.

Did the test patch with no problem. A few days later I used it on my whole pubic region.. worked great. Only a few "missed" spots. I ended up shaving those the next day. I was nice and smooth for about a week (except for the missed areas which I kept smooth with the good ole razor)

This morning I figured it was time to re magic myself. (hadn't used it for a week and hadn't shaved for 2 days) So I slather it on.. wait the 6 minutes and proceed to remove it.. It promptly removed the top layer of skin.. maybe the second layer also.

I'm sore and cranky now....

Any ideas on what to put on it to soothe it? I've tried some creams.. but they all burn.

Anyone need a half a tube of Magic? I'll even pay shipping.. :)

Freaky, wanna borrow my flaming pussy av? I gave up on Magic not too long ago. Sitting under the shower faucet with warm water running directly on the senstive spot for ten minutes was the only thing that helped, and it only got me to the point where I didn't have to hobble bow-legged.

Aloe, with Vitamin E, and if you can find it, Lidocain. It's generally used on sunburns, but it's really helpfull for something like this, if you're bleeding, or it looks like a wound, treat it as one and dab on some neosporin. Unfortunately, the best thing for it is not moving around much, which will allow new skin to form faster. I'm guessing you're going to be walking funny for a bit. Sorry to hear that you had the problem, but it's a caution: Always Patch Test, reguardless of if you have used the product or not. Nair has the warning, as do most hair removal products. It's something most people don't think about, but it's a real caution.

As for the tube, no thanks fg, I think I'll keep my skin.

I'm having Magic issues as well.

Screw me for not reading directions.

Everything I learned the first time, I got from the thread I started. This time, I just slathered it on my legs without a care. I couldn't tell you exactly what happened...maybe whatever was on my legs before plus being in the sun shortly after.

I've woken up crying/itching/delerious for two nights in a row.

Helloooo Benadryl/Cortaid cocktail.

Should I even concider using this shit now that I have a bottle?

Depends on your skin. Is your skin sensitive, do you frequently expirience reactions to things like lotions, gels, and other skin treatments? If yes. . . HELL NO !

Find some Corn Husker's Lotion.

Yellow label, looks like a flask.

No oil, just cool, soothing relief.

Use very sparingly, though.

A little goes a long way.

I'm sorry hon.. that's ouchie :(

I can't/ don't use Magic on the lips.. I get chemical burn, and it has even drawn blood.

I Magic my pubic mound.. and it used to stay smooth for 2 weeks, at least. But not anymore :( I think I've developed an immunity or somethin'... it gets stubbly after a day or two now.

I don't want to shave, cuz I'm tired of the stubble and razor burn/ rash/ bumps.

I'm running out of options short of waxing, I've never done that.

Thanks for all the advice...

Ice cubes are nice.. but it makes me look like I've pee'd myself :(
I have some cream that I got from the hospital for some problem spots my mom had just after she came home from the hospital. It's called barri-care.. it's like a really thick neosporin.. it kind of dries into a self sealing band-aid too.. I'll see if that works.

Licky, this is my pubic mound.. the lips turned out great. No problem there..

I believe Vaseline also might help to elevate some of your discomfort.

I was actually going to buy some Magic this week.
I have tried it before , I bought the regular strength the one in the blue can. It worked out well that time I used it , I have yet to use it again.

This week I was going to buy the cream instead of the powder... but now after hearing your woes fgurl ... makes me not want to buy it.

Hope you feel better.

I think I have overly sensative skin..

I should either stick to shaving.. or going au natural.. because I am never going to use a chemical again.

Yikes! The only thing I can think of is that you scraped harder this time than the first time when you didn't have a problem with it? I've noticed that I used the spatula gently to remove the majority of the lotion, and then really get the hair itself in the shower with a wash cloth and lots of clear water.

For anyone who has never used it, the patch test is critical. But you had no problems with the lotion, so I don't know. Sorry that it hurts! :(

Cheyenne

The very first time I used it, I used a scraper thingy.. I thought maybe that was part of my problem.

The second-first time I used it (last week) I used a wet cloth and cool water in the shower to remove it.. no scraper. It worked great.

Today I did the same thing and it burned. I have no idea why.

It is frustrating because it's a wonderful product. I love the smoothness... I only wish it wasn't so harsh (but then.. it wouldn't work.. would it? )

People can develope reactions to chemical hair removers over periods of time. That's why most products tell you to patch test every time. For people with sensitive or delicate skin, this step is essential, instead of being something that you can skip.

The magic didn't say to do a patch test every time ;) so I didn't..

I figured.. worked once.. will work again.

Not true. :(

The garbage man gets yet another tube of Magic.. :D

From what I've read of magic, it wasn't designed to be used below the neck line. Generally, most products that are, will tell you to test every time. Even if they don't tell you, it's still a good idea to, for the reason you found out.

I'll take it on the 24th babycakes.. don't throw it away.

I can use it on Jus ;)

I really think a lot of it has to do with any product residue that might be on your skin...even if that's a trace of soap or lotion.

That's all I can figure, as I never had a problem until now.

I won't give up!

Long live the powers of Magic!

I'm a dork, someone, shut me up!

You could be right, I had showered yesterday and put lotion on. I washed before using it.. maybe I didn't get all the soap off before lathering..

I might try again in a couple of weeks. Make sure I'm good and healed first though

Why can't they just invent something that kills the damn hair forever. It ain't never coming back.

Do it once, and it is over with.

I wouldn't wear a beard. I'd gladly give it up. I can't shave close enough. I have five o'clock shadow by ten in the morning.

I feel sorry for my wife having to shave her legs all the time. It has to be possible.

I bet it is like one of those motors that get a hundred miles to the gallon. They exist but big brother won't let us have them. Too much damage to our economy.
