I slept.

I've been having trouble sleeping the last few nights...not sure why though, and yes, it does suck.

Don't know whether I'd call it insomnia, but I've been having some unusual sleeping hours lately. Unusual for even me, I mean. I'm sleeping in 2-3 hour blocks. I guess this is why I'm on Lit all the time and being so giddy. Sleep deprivation. *shrug* It isn't bothering me especially. Let's see.

I'm blessed with the ability to fall asleep almost anytime, anywhere. My girlfriend calls them POWER NAPS, I call them cat naps.

Oh yes. Insomnia is a staple in my life.

I've been forcing myself into a routine recently. It seems to help.

I can sleep anywhere, anytime.

I think its a holdover from working full time while I was going to school full time, and I had to be able to fall asleep immediately to be able to take advantage of the few hours I had.

eta: I do have the occasional sleepless night, but I can usually trace it to some kind of stress or something that's weighing on me heavily.

I've started a new prescription this week, too...and can't get more than four hours of sleep. I can get to sleep with only minimal difficulty (which is new for me), but then I snap awake in about 4 hours, no matter what I do. It's maddening, but is supposed to go away after the med builds up or I go insane and shoot-up a McDonald's or something.

Yay, atypical brain chemistry.

New allergy meds have kept me awake for the past couple of weeks. It's a bitch to grow accustomed to them, but hopefully, things will be better in the long run. I usually stay up late, until midnight or so, then wake early, say around 5:30, waking up several times during the night. Makes me very sleepy during the day. If my latest posts look all wonky, that's probably the reason!

I rarely get more than 4 hours on weeknights. Usually 2-3 is what I drag through on. I'm not a genuine insomniac, but I suffer from certain aftereffects of an issue concerning onset insomnia from when I was younger, dating back to middle school or earlier, but I can't say for certain since I don't remember not having onset issues unless I'm literally exhausted.

I get up early for work (between 1:30 and 2:00 am) so sleeping in, even to normal hours, is an impossibility, lest I sacrifice employment to do so, and I refuse. 15 and a half an hour isn't much, but I won't start at that rate anywhere else (well, maybe, but without seniority or the job security I've built up) and it pays the bills for now.

On days I can sleep in...

Well, sometimes I almost miss an entire day. lol

Still feel like shit, but I live.

Just needed to announce it. I haven't been sleeping at all because of hideous prescription drugs. In fact, last Monday was the last time I slept through the night. So I've been doing lots of Lit lurking at 3:00 a.m. It sucks, really.

Last night I rebelled, put off taking the meds until this morning.

This morning I feel - well, I just feel better.

Yea me.

(ok - I'm coughing and quite congested, but I'll take a good night's sleep over that.)

Good for you, Sarah. I know you weren't feeling too happy a few nights ago.

Personally, I've always had irregular sleeping habits. I got to bed when I'm tired, and wake up when I need to. Haven't used an alarm in decades. But there have been a few occasions in which I simply could not sleep.

A couple of beers usually took care of that problem. ;)
