Yep..for my birthday TODAY i saw episode two...it was a long movie but i enjoyed it...I am still in shock from the yoda battle...(our theatre stood in ovation) Plus they had matrix previews before the movie....so if you really enjoy star wars i guess go see it...George lucas throws an interesting loop into the saga.

I liked it, too. The only think that sorta ticked me off is overuse of CG. Especially when Obi-Wan learn of the clones. I was like, "tone it down, some, George. That whole scene just looked terrible. But, the rest of the movie was cool,(other than the romance.) TOO cheesy.)

Yup! Ditto. But it really had the audience rolling in their seats, myself included, with the light-sabre duel: Yoda vs. Christopher Lee. :D

Now I know what the little Jeci's big, pointy ears are for - FLIGHT!

I too liked Ep. II... I wasn't upset spending the money to see it. I didn't love it, but it had its redeeming values... Of course there were places where my friends and I just looked at eachother and mouthed LOTR, but *shrugs* it was still kinda cool.
I'm curious to see what Lucas does with the next one... I really hope he hires someone else to write the script and direct. The dialogue was truly atrocious, and I also felt the love scenes were forced. Still, worth the money to see.
~Rhi... who waited for 3 hours to get her very good seats. :)

Episode II sucked for the most part the Yoda fight was good but too short. As for the new sith guy hes awful he should have been in Episode I for many reasons. First off he would be dead by now. Secondly Darth Maul was young and Qui-gon Jinn had experience on his side so Darth Mul should have lost. Then for the best reason imagine Yoda fighting Darth Maul.

By the way I want to add that Jango Fett ruined the movie for me. Not only is he nowhere near is cool as Boba Fett but I also like the story behind Boba Fett in the books.

Epp II absolutely rocked. I just got home and am still buzzing. The romance was cheesy, and the acting was once again stilted. But the characters had much more depth, and the animation, while oever used, generally added to rather than detracted from the effect.

Dooku was an excellent character, and Lee owns that role, he was sublime. I think McGregor still doesn't fit into Obi Wan's shoes. But Christensen plays Anakin in a typically whining Skywalker mode - you want to box his ears, but he does it well and shows tallent. The Yoda fight got an ovation from our crowd too, all in all the crowd had a blast. This is no 'A New Hope', but it is an excellent movie. Corny humour, R2 and 3-P0 are still a barrel of laughs. Red herrings left and right, and a bloody army full of maori.

This has more twists and turns in it than any Star Wars I've seen - and frankly I loved that. It's starting to all come together. But I still want to know . . . is Sidious really Palpatine?

Sidious is Palpatine and many things give it away. First off when sidious appears in person he loks and sounds liek the Emporor except hes not as funny looking. Secondly Dooku said that a Sith Lord was in the Senate. Then in Episode I Sidious made everything perfectly legal for the Trade Federation. Then in the credits Palpatine and sidious are played by the same actor. Even ignoring that in the other Star Wars movies there is Darth Vader but what of the other Sith? There has to be two of them and Vader has no apprentice.

I feel like blowing more steam about the movie. What really killed it as I said before was Jango Fett. There is no Jango Fett and Boba Fett is a journeyman Protector from Concord Dawn.

Another thing is the Character Guide for Star Wars says Obi-Wan is Owen's brother not Anakin. George Lucas gave permission for writers to create stories as long as they were consistant with each other. Now he has gone out f his way to proove all of that wrong. Now the new movies contradict the old ones too. In Empire Strikes Back Obi-Wan speaks as if Yoda trained him but Episode I clearly shows otherwise. There is also the fact that somehow between the new movies and A New Hope C-3PO manages to forget he was ever on Tatooine. He also manages to forget Obi-Wan too.

You remember the scene where 3PO's head was put on a droid? That's how he forgot. All his memories before wer elost because of that. And, his memories wer enever reprogrammed. Or, at least, that's what I thought. Kind of a strech, but, the scene was funnier than hell. And, I LOVED it when ther Senators say , "If only Amidala was here." And, Jar Jar is like, "Huh?" I couldn't of agreed more. But, I can't say I hated Jar Jar. For most of his screentime, he just looked clueless, without talking. I thought Dooku was a GREAT villian,(and, viciously played.) I was suprised, because, I thought I'd ahte him. The 1st thig I thought of when seeing that name was Popo. I admit, even though Yoda is a GOD, I thought he looked horrible in this. Maybe because I'm used to Oz doing him. Other than the fight scene, my favorite Yoda moment was when he's embarrassing Obi-Wan in frot of his students.

If that is the case with C-3PO its even more proof that Lucas is making it his point to proove all the writers wrong since its been said hes never lost memory. Well its no matter Episode II should be great its following the patteren of the first trillogy. The first was good and the second wasn't and the third was the best of the three.

(saw it last night! :D woo hoo!)

Gotta love the guy who sounds like he's passing gas every time he opens his mouth. ;) (not enough of a Star Wars guru to know his name....)

The Yoda fight scene had me in stitches... so cool... so cool. :D

Who the hell cares? Books are never the same as movies, anyway. Just have fun. BTW-Empire,(the 2nd in the original trilogy,)was my fav. How can you NOT like the part where Darth tells Luke he's his father? And, it was the 1st intro to Yoda,(aka GOD!)

The Empire Strikes back has its great parts but most of the time Han is in the asteroid fiend because the Falcon isn't working right. It's not bad but I liked the other two more.

That just confirms my opinion of your opinions.

A Hew Hope was far and away the best movie of al time, in my opinion. In the series, Empire was second best, and a long way ahead of Jedi. A long way. Don't tell me Jar Jar annoyed you and those Ewoks didn't.

Well, who am I to argue with your opinion? Although, YOU'RE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!:p ;) I just have a thing for darker movies. Did yoy know that when Han says "I know" after Leia says, "I Love you," he was suppose to say, "I love you, too?" George was upset, but, he told Harrison, "Will see how it translates to film." But, after George saw the finished product, he said to Harrison, "You were right" Or, something like that, anyway.

Actually I am a big Jar Jar fan and was dissapointed by his small role in Episode II. The thing with Return of The Jedi is I liked the space battle a tot and the A-Wings and B-Wings make thier first movie appearance.

During eppisode IV filming Ford is quoted as saying "You can type this shit George, but you can't say it."

Sounds pretty like a pretty apt description of the wodden and analy formal dialogue of epp II.

So Jango is bad but Ewoks are good? You read too many stories, need to focus on what Star Wars really is - movies.

ROTFLAO!!! It's funny you mention that. On my VHS for the special edition, they interview Harrison, and, he says, The script was*sigh*unlike anything I've ever seen." Everytime I watch that, I always get a kick out of it.

Actually, I thought that some of the dialouge was somewhat witty,(ok, maybe only a handful of lines.) Like, "You're gonna be the death of me." LOL. And, Anakin-"What are you gonna do?" Obi-Wan-"Get a drink." And, when the Senate member says, "If Only Queen Amidala were here." Speaking about Jar Jar. Of course, expressing most people's hatred for him. THen, in the coliseum, "WE came to rescue you." Obi-Wan-"Good job."

yes but a handful of "good" lines does not make a good script. I liked Ep. II, i didn't consider it great or fabulous, but it was tons better than Ep. I. My biggest complaint was the dialogue - it sucked. the love story was hard to believe. the action scenes were cool. i'm still not convinced anakin is going to become the badest dude in the galaxy. On the other hand, I'm not upset I spent the money on the ticket. *shrugs* I will be immensely happy if a) Lucas gets someone else to write the script and/or b) does not direct Ep. III. I guess my hopes are all on Ep. III to show me that Anakin is really evil. (yes I know there are signs in this one, but honestly, they are not terribly convincing)
I have to say, Lucas has lost me as a diehard fan on this series. Before Ep. I, I was somewhat obsessive, now I'll see the movies b/c I *am* a fan, but... I couldn't care less when the next one is appearing. On the other hand, I'm hanging on tenderhooks for LOTR.

"Actually I am a big Jar Jar fan and was dissapointed by his small role in Episode II. "-Lord Emu, you are the ultimate contrarian, LOL. I liked how Episode 2 incorporated the loathing most people have for Jar Jar into it ... he gets several subtle put down through out the movie ... culminating in him being the one who moves to give the chancelor emergency powers (perhaps ending democracy for the Republic) while a bunch of mindless looking alien politicians cheer him on.

I personally love the movie despite all its cheesiness, but here is some tongue in cheek criticism I posted on another message board. Comments are welcome!

Posted on another message board along time ago on a website far, far, away:

I loved the movie, but to join in the bashing:

---

1) The dialogue and acting was for the most part laughably bad, starting from the very first scene when Natalie Portman reacts to the injury of one of her security agents.

---

2) There are two mysteries (chuckle, chuckle) which perhaps Episode 3 will resolve: How come the the technology at the time of the Republic seems so much superior to the technology by the time the Empire's in power? And what terrible disease wiped out most of the Black people in the Republic by the time the Empire rises to power?

---

3) This one had me rolling in the aisle: Why does Yoda limp and need a cane to walk? He was moving like a Blade II vampire during his fight scene.

---

There's a lot more curious stuff, which I guess is inevitable if you make a series of movies on this scale.
