On the surface, it seems outlandish.

But I want to know... 'cause quite frankly it would qualify us as a terrorist state in my eyes; the Republicans would have to go and stay gone for a very LONG time if Bush made the comment with any amount of seriousness.

It's relative, but I'd like to believe we're the fucking good guys.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Americans are for the most part good guys...its the industrial military complex that rules your country that troubles me

El Sol, what's it gonna take for you to realize that our administration is the furthest thing from the 'good guys' as can possibly be? Lying to us and trumping up evidence for WMD in Iraq, lying to us about connections between al Quaeda, 9/11, and terrorists in Iraq, occupying a country where we've killed thousands of civilians solely for the purpose of controlling oil, leaking CIA identities to the press, shifty vote counting to gain power, offering no-bid contracts to the buddies of Bush & Co, forming energy policies based on secret meetings with oil company execs...

What exactly is it that makes you think that we're the good guys? Or that anyone else thinks that we're the good guys?

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if GWB did indeed want to bomb al Jazeera - that's exactly the kind of thing our bomb them into oblivion, stay the course, president would want to do. He wants our own media to suppress showing the coffins of our dead soldiers arriving from Iraq. Why wouldn't he want to suppress al Jazeera in the only way he can?

I fervently hope the Brits don't abandon our fucked-up mission in Iraq. If they do, there will be no one to act as a voice of reason to the imperialists in power in this country.

Because ostensably 3000 thousand dead people in WTC means something.

Iraq is an off-shoot of 9/11... after 9/11 we would have allowed Bush just about anything. We're just beginning to recover from it mentally.

Iraq, to me, is just some people taking advantage of the general fear and 'want to do something' desire Americans felt.

So I never believed the administration was the 'good guys'... they're politicians. But at least, WE were the good guys.

This would be the line that Bushie would be reflecting bad on me.

I've never been above kickin' the shit out of someone to make others not fuck with us... but that's just me. Generally speaking, I'm only one of the good guys because I don't want to go to jail.

Sincerely,
ElSol

As long as Americans tolerate what our administration is doing or are willing to turn a blind eye to it in favor of the latest Britney Spears controversy, and as long as we continue voting into Congressional offices those that support this administration, we the people are responsible for what GWB is doing...so no, we the people are not the good guys.

The 3000 dead people in the WTC do mean something to we the people. But we've allowed our administration to forget what that means, and to use it to further their own agenda.
