i'm a (mostly) intact being from the '50's who has traveled to the 2020's. it wasn't instantaneous travel like in science fiction but nevertheless i'm a being from the past who has traveled into the future. pretty spooky, huh?

The spookiest part is that a significant portion of our time-traveling population wants to go back to those days. Fortunately, they will not ultimately succeed in turning back the clock and calendar.

There was a lot of good in the 50s. Less drugs. Less guns. No Fakebook. Better TV (albeit in B&W). Locally owned businesses thrived, even in small towns.

Yeah, if you were white. at least middle class, not in the family of an alcoholic, not being abused by pedophiles, and certainly not living in a nation that was being controlled by an imperial power for resource exploitation.

Yeah, maybe then you could ignore what the CIA, the racists, the misogynists, and the pedophiles were doing in Leave it to Beaver Land.

i think it's pretty damned cool as one-way tickets go.

we're ALL time travelers. awesome. :cattail:

my m-i-l is still time traveling, strong, at 98, so she has cap'n kirk beat by yearsssssssssss :D

I think it would be kind of fun to be able to travel back to moments we have lived. It has been said it is not good to dwell on the past though.

My birthday this year was 25 hours long for me. That's sort of like time traveling.

it's cheese o'clock

it's always cheese o'clock, no matter the time-zone

Dude, you're freaking me out.

I wish some form of suspended animation were possible so you could do the Rip van Winkle thing.

In SF that might lead anywhere -- you might wake up to find yourself hunted by the state (Sleeper) or living in a socialist utopia (Looking Backward) or owning the world (The Sleeper Awakes) or just hitching a ride on the Enterprise (trying to take it over optional).
