I had the left lobe of my thyroid removed. Multi-nodular goiter. Should be okay....path reports in a week.
I now have a 2-3 inch incision at the base of my throat that is held together with "steri-strips" and ITCHES like crazy!!
my throat is a little sore because of them intabating me for anesthesia and I FINALLY slept after I got back home this afternoon. I couldn't sleep at the hospital, damn nurses keep walking into your room every 2 hours to check your breathing and take your blood pressure....then look at you and say "you should get some rest!" Like I WASN'T trying to when you came in at 2:17AM and WOKE ME UP!!!!! (and at midnight and 4 AM). I gave up after the 4 AM one.
about a 23 hour hospital stay! the wonders of modern medicince!!
the only problem now is trying to move my head but the damn steri-strips keep tugging. Think I'll just ice the incision to help the swelling.
