I needed a tuner for my DVD player I got for Christmas but I'm too miserly to go out and lay down real money for a nice one. I'm not a big fan of the intensely loud rocket ship sound that comes out of the "surround sound" experience. I just want something to hook up both channels of my DVD player to. Anyway, I found this old JVC for $51 on an auction site and won.

Although I think I did OK, my inner-Scrouge is still asking, did I get taken?

The RX-207 is an Digital Synthesizer stereo receiver made by JVC. This unit features an analog tuner and puts out 35 watts per channel of pure clean sound. Features include a computer controlled digital synthesizer tuning system with random presets for 20 AM or FM stations, digital display, a motorized analog volume control, inputs & outputs for two tape decks or VCRs, phono, cd, and aux, outputs for 2 sets of speakers and a headphone jack. Can't find original remote, but you should be able to operate it using a universal remote (not included). The volume, balance, and tone controls are absolutely noise-free. This unit sounds great, is in excellent shape, and would make an excellent addition to any stereo system or entertainment center!

Judging by your stories, you got taken by your English degree.

Wow, some friend you are. But at least you read them. That makes you OK in my book.

By the way, why'd you go unregistered? I personally want a refund from those bastards at State U. Maybe you could write a letter on my behalf.:)

hey marxist...nice to see you...i haven't jumped your ass in a thread in a long time

let's see now...

~sticking my tongue out~

sorry, i'm in a non-confrontational mood tonight...it's the best (worst) i could manage

and sorry again, but i have no clue regarding your dvd/tuner question...when i need new electronics, i bat my lashes at my cousin and he finds an employee of his who's a genius at this stuff and i just follow their advice

(yeah, i know, it's disgusting the way women can get away with using eyelashes and tits to get men to do things for them, but i just consider it payment due for having to put up with a period every month)

i digressed, didn't i? sorry for the third time :p

Sigh, It's always about the spank spank with you.

I know $50 isn't a lot, but I wanted the motherfucker for $35. God, I feel dirty.

Dear Artist formerly known as Marxist- sounds reasonably priced to me, but I have know idea what the market price is.

On the other hand, I guess you just established it world-wide.

For what you paid.. you did ok. I'm glad you didn't go any higher. It wouldn't have been worth it.

You can pick up much better systems.. for around $150-$200. Try it out, if you don't like it. Put it up for auction :D

That's what I thought. I went pawn shop hunting today and found an awesome Sony receiver and talked the guy down to $99. But somewhere in my pea-brain I had already set an artificial price of no higher than $50.

Maybe it's that extra $1 that's gotten inside my head and left a smidgen of doubt.

Thanx folks. I feel a little better.

Actually, I think you did alright.

A day later, I feel better about it.

If I don't like it, I guess I'll do what FG said and put it up for auction.

If you should ever put your MicroChocoPenis (tm) - yes, i acknowledge your trademark - up for auction give me a shout. I would like to add it to my collection of useless things.

I will also generously bid $1 for it so you will get reimbursed for spending $51 for whatever it was you bought.

It's The CAT Formerly Known As Marxist.

And the MCP will only go up for sale until after Sears installs the MCP-2.

It has ratchet-head action like the MCP-1, but comes with an invaluable little nightlight. It's xenon.
