A follow up to this thread, my New Year's resolution is to acquiesce to mindless television. I went for years without watching any television. I need more low culture, my pop culture arsenal has withered. I'm not bottom dwelling with Jersey Shore or television of that ilk, but I've got my fill of subtitles and lofty documentaries for the current (although if you've got recs for those, go ahead and post 'em).

I navigate to dramas with thought, plot with movement, characters with layers, dialog with nuance. I just finished watching the entire series Breaking Bad. It took only a few weeks to burn through Burn Notice. I ravished Weeds. I have seen all of Parks and Rec. But that's pretty much it. I haven't had cable in years and I'm woefully behind on my television viewing habits, which means pretty much anything is game if it's available on Netflix streaming.

Also, these shows were suggested, but aren't in Netflix streaming: The Closer, Game of Thrones, Californiacation, True Blood, Homeland, The Wire, Community (grrrr), Castle, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Hung, Fringe, Supernatural, Leverage.

Any others I should consider? Post 'em.

Look at my list. Vote now. Vote often. Pimp your favorite show. My late night entertainment relies on your knowledge.

i'd say bsg, but the ending is fucking bullshit and there are a couple episodes in the second season that are terrible. also, it can be over dramatic at times. still, it's one of the better recent scifi shows.

I like that it's a long series and, as atmas pointed out to me, it's a series in its entirety, so I don't have to wait for the remaining seasons to come to Netflix.

You should ask Zilla...She's watched them all, including Dolf, and probably even seen your tits

I love watching Gordon get pissed and call someone an ignorant fuck. Reminds me of this place.

i go through phases with tv stuff.

i was hooked on law and order SVU for the longest time. not anymore. earlier seasons of NCIS. criminal minds. spartacus - i was hooked. dexter. i love dexter. i like the new one with the girl that remembers everything. unforgettable! american horror story. for another new show, i like person of interest. the mentalist. i don't know if any are on netflix. shows get recorded then i can run through them late at night. the goodwife is fun.

I really like Ramsey's shows. I believe he is working on a new one called Hotel Hell

...and sorry Sinny. TV is TV but I have to vote for your tits :D

You forgot Damages.

Though to be fair I didn't mention it in your other thread because it doesn't have 50+ episodes.

1st season was genius. 2nd/3rd Season was pretty good too. 4th with John Goodman was just mediocre. Also the constant flashbacks aren't a great plot device when watching marathon style.

I love the Mentalist! Stopped watching eons ago. Back on the list.

I'm full of lies. I'll never post 'em!

Oh, that looks good. And it has Glenn Close! And it's three seasons on Netflix. Adding it to my Instant Queue.

I just started watching "The Increasingly Poor Choices of Todd Margaret."

I can't decide if David Cross in this role irritates me, or if I adore him. I remember insta-loving him as Tobias in AD.

If you need late night entertainment, we could simply repeat what we did last night.

You owe me the recipe for 5-alarm chili! We didn't get around to discussing the finer points of bean v. beef only chili.
And, yes. It's always rad plotting, errrr, chatting with you. I really am going to switch to Skype, though. I'll have to think of a clever user name.
I'm off work today to burn off personal days they no longer allow you to carry over (bastawds!), I am about to go start cooking something spicy. Haven't decided what yet.

I'll PM you my skype name. Maybe we can play Battleship.

I vote SOA, but it's the only one on the list I watch...I have seen every episode since day one, tho...if you like bikes, bikers, fights, etc you'd love it...

I call bikers "organ donors," so I'm pretty sure I'll find plenty to hate about the series. That, of course, means, I'm adding it to my instant queue immediately.
