I need a roleplay..

I've been on this Forum for a couple of days now and have not been able to get one roleplay. I do not understand how anything works on here. I mean, I see posts that have over 100 replies, and that doesn't make sence to me. There is only a few actual threads that I can see, and I don't understand how come there is so many replies. If anybody can help me understand the idea of these threads, then maybe I'll actually get some roleplaying action. And if anybody needs a male for a roleplay, just pm and I'll be glad to help out.

A lot of people on these boards have a lot of different styles. Some of the threads that have hundreds of entries are short, quick, one-line back and forth things. There are several threads that don't have as many posts, but the ones they do have are well-written, full of passion, drama, hilarity, and sometimes really hot sex.

Take a look at the "threads that need players" thread (it's the sticky one at the top of the SRP page) to see if anybody is looking for additional players. If you have good ideas, people will eventually hop on. Some really good ideas bomb. I've had several do that. Some really dumb ideas go full steam ahead. You never know what other people are going to bring to the stories.

Anyways, I think the best thing to do is read some threads, get some ideas, start your own thread(s) and put up a post on the "threads that need players" sticky thread. Just remember that nobody will be excited to play with you unless you give them a bit of a starting board, an idea that's interesting to play with.

you never know when an idea may occur to you that will strike the fancy of the original thread starter. unless its clearly marked as closed, you should pm the thread owner to see if your idea appeals... they may let you in, having never thought of that particular twist to characters or storyline.

Some threads have OOCs (out of character threads) set up for this purpose. find a thread with a writing style that appealst to you. Good luck and have fun.

What's with all the "spank me" threads anyway?

It must be because folks think it is safer here than in reality. Some ideas are pretty scary. Makes me wonder what planted the idea so strongly in so many heads. I certainly hope it is truly fantasy and not reality!

I know the prevalence of so many of these threads have turned many talented writers away from the site. *sigh*

Not looking for an argument... rather looking for a few female writers that 1) aren't into rough stuff 100% of the time, 2) use a spell checker and/or dictionary, & 3) can carry their share of plot ideas.

Even if they are into some of the rough stuff it would be nice to find some creative women who can step away from it from time to time. I know that talent exists here. One can catch glimpses of it trying to break through in the posts from time to time.

The one(s) that does (do) are so much in demand that it makes it hard to make a story move along unless they commit to writing all the female parts.

I am not talking about the guys that write as women without telling their threadmates either! That is for another rant.

Frustration and sadness are found here more often than inspiration! It angers me to develop a character and really get into that part only to have the story fall by the wayside because someone disappears for yet another one-line post filled spank me thread.

Okay I'll shut up about it now. Gotta get some cheese to have with this whine.

* slips in and hands you a plate of sheese and crackers to go along with that whine of yours as well as a smile*..There are alot of different varieties on here if you looke about. What normally happens is one person/or two as a writing partners come up with an idea that isn't on there already in a thread and thern you turn about and there are 5 others sim. to it.

As for BDSM threads or as you call them...'spank me' thread..(LOL) there's alot of that due to fantasy yes and as well real life. I have 8 threads currently I'm in with 3 different writers, and I'd never trade them in as writing partners those are indeed very hard to find, ones you mesh well with. I also use two different nicks to write in them as well...due to not having been able to find a female intrested in writing or one that would fit in with my partner and I. I'm very committed to my threads as if you took a peek at any of them I'm far from a short poster, I'm long winded and like it that way. I also am In touch with those I write with thru YIM, I know if they can't post for certain reasons that I will move the thread along tho most of my posts I break up due to the fact of length or writing for NPCs. We help each other along, and it makes such a nice partnership, nice to know another has your back when you cant write, or perhaps have a block and not sure what direction to move in.

I agree alot of the threads I hope are ture fantasy..my offline lifestyle is D/s, I might write hardcore scenes but I also have softcore and loving. caring posts in there as well, I mix alot of variety. I have an incest thread but it does'nt mean its my bag, its just a thread least In my mind.

Frustration and sadness is all over the internet...thats a given as one ventures out into the wide world of the web...

Just hang in there I'm sure you will find a few that will willingly write with you..and not for the quick fixes as it doesn't seem to be that's what your looking for.

Why thank you Dahlin'...I was just reading over the bit you had posted about it..your basically looking into the supernatural here correct..like souls returning through an open gateway kinda thing?..and I do love the pic of the graveyeard..very ancient looking and dreary. Actually I'm working on another I've been tossing about in my head...trying to bring it alive in text which doesn't always happen and it ends up on the perverbial text floor in shattered letters scattered everytwhere.
