I miss my hair:(

It keeps the sun of your head and back of your neck. Keeps you warm in winter. There are no depictions of shaved short haired men in art before 350 BC or so. Probably took that long for iron technology to develop commercially viable razors.

I had mine cut off to above the ears a month before end of college. I sold out on that day! A huge amount of hair on floor. The prog rock talk and vids reminded me. All my buddies had long hair. Ten guys around a table with hair as long or longer than the girls. Without a split end to be seen and with minimal maintenance.

It's your freak flag.

Not all about getting thin on top. That can be the least of it. Sean Connery and Jean-Luc Picard are proof bald dudes can get chicks.

I miss my hair.
But thank goodness I have a reasonable shape head!
These Spock ears though....

I think the realtionship had with hair is different for the sexes perhaps? Even hair loss would be felt differently.

As hard rom says, a bald ban is not necessarily unattractive. When a woman shaves her head there is a lot of talk about whether her face can take it, or the shape of her head. Alopecia is. Not liked because it makes women feel sexually undesirable and frail and mortal whereas I imagine for men, its not liked because of reminder of mortality predominantly, as its just....acceptable ( if not wanted!) and seen as sexually desirable.

That's swell, playgrounder.

I miss mine too. Last spring I cut a good 7 inches off... It is growing back but I really wish I would not have done that.

Byron kept his into his 40's.
2 years ago, he convinced me to cut mine off since it took any extra 10 mins when I showered to take care of. He was right.

My hubby has hair half way down his back, which is starting to thin on top. It's not too noticeable yet, but it will be. We're both going to miss his hair. My son has hair nearly the same length. He starts high school the year after next, and I used to worry the teasing would get worse there. I'm so glad guys are growing their hair a bit these days. My boy will just have a good head start.

One of my oldest friends was like you, he had hair down his back through his 20s. He started shaving in his thirties and met his very beautiful sweet wife. He wears hats. I knew him since school so I still see the young fellow he was and still seems as handsome and bright as he did 25 years ago. I never thought anything of it, I think the hair thing is a man on man ribbing thing. Women don't care about it much, they care more about who the man is.

So far and I mean so far, I have a lot of hair. It's just really gray underneath my hair color.

I have quite a bit of hair. Its so long I sit on it, it gets caught when I shut doors, and the hair gets on everything.

I would shave it all off if I had my druthers.

No growing the skullet out?

Mullet is an option. Looks short enough at front under a ball cap to look respectable. Looks real daft if too thin on top. Ponytail better option if hair going thin on top. Two women I know would, with zero hesitation, cut a ponytail off if I tried to grow one. One is a professional hairdresser, the other puts out, so I get no real choice in the matter. #3 razor cut on back and sides with top same length but point cut to add texture. I just follow my hairdressers orders and relay that to whoever is cutting my hair.
