I love the summer hols!

I felt like posting a happy, feel-good thread, because life's pretty grand, when you sit back and take stock of exactly what you do have, instead of focusing on what you haven't got. A bit long-winded and deep, maybe, but I don't care. :)

In just over half an hour I'll be picking my kids up from school, and I can't wait! It's the start of their summer holidays and we're gonna have so much fun. Longs days at the beach, which is right on our doorstep, and happy family days out. We plan to go down to Cornwall for a few days and London for a day or two - we want them to see what a wonderful country we live in.

Happy summer, one and all!

Hey! Happy summer to you too. Wow, just out of school now? The critters here have been on vacation since June. It's been wonderful! No screaming, so bells . . . peace :D

Enjoy your summer, Lou! And make sure to get yourself a few moments when you do absolutely NOTHING productive or clever whatsoever - only nice, lazy, silly nothings.;) :rose:

Thanks, babe. Yeah, the kids here break up at the end of July, for six weeks, going back at the beginning of September. This is gonna be an awesome summer, I can feel it. :D

I'm so totally, completely jealous! No beach in sight here, and a husband that refuses to go anywhere.

But, enjoy the hell out of yourself!!!!

That's what I do. I'm going to the beach tomorrow, to bathe in the sun and in the icecold water of the Baltic Sea.
Hubby will be working, as he always does. I'd pity him, if I didn't know for a fact that Work is men's sexiest mistress.

Sometimes we all feel a bit down,
Even Lou's face might be filled with a frown,
But playing in the sun,
With her kids, having fun,
Made her laugh again like a clown.

I hope you don't mind, I've been in limerick mood.

Snoopy,

Ready to Baste!

Abingdon's quite nice at this time of year love;) :rose:

I too love the school Hol's... it means I can drive to work in Oxford 8 miles away in less than three quarters of an hour for a change... cos all the stupid yuppie tarts in 8 seat four wheel drive fucking people carriers aren't clogging up the road taking their one fucking spottie faced over-weight little yuppie kid half a mile to their yuppie fucking fee paying school... But one must have four wheel drive, essential for shopping at fucking Sainsbury's isn't it... bitter and twisted... me... never... Come rain or shine, all three of ours have always walked the half mile to school, and all three are very trim and healthy.

Enjoy your Hol's Lou love, and enjoy your kids while they're still young enough to let you... they grow up all too fast and become independent little sods:D Just like us;)

I might have to add Abingdon to my own personal itinerary. ;)

I completely agree about the bloody stupid amount of cars on the road, and often needlessly. I see it around here. I know so many mums who live no more than a few streets away from the school and they still bloody drive them!!! I always walk my kids to school. In fact it would take us longer to get in the car, belt up, drive there and get out again than it would to actually walk it (I know someone who can visualise that :D). LOL! But, when I was at primary school it was two miles away. I walked there and back every day with my brother. Never did me any harm. Did me loads of good, in fact!

My two are very trim, fit and active kids. They are full of energy, too. That's another great thing about the hols - they get to come out on my long walks with my dog with me.

I love having my girls around, we have loads of fun, laughing and mucking about. I'm not one of these mothers I hear complaining about the kids being off school (and I hear loads, it's shocking), they are a joy to have around. It's so true that they aren't young long. I want to have plenty of happy memories of good summers with my baby girls. :)

Thanks, babe.

No fair, I have to work!

Have a good one Lou!

Awww! I feel for you. That was me, before I had my kids. I worked full time as an office manager for years and it used to drive me nuts to be cooped up inside during the summer. I love my "job" now. :D

Thanks, sweetie.
