I love pie.

The blueberries are very fresh. We brought them home with us from Michigan - we picked them ourselves.

I don't really have a great crust recipe, just the typical flour, butter, egg, ice water and pinch of salt.

BUT - I made two different types of pies - yummmm.

The first was your typical, two-crust pie. Blueberries, sugar, cinnamon, lemon, vanilla, cornstarch - cook for an hour.

The other two pies - cook half the blueberries on the stovetop with butter and lemon juice. Then add flour, granulated sugar and brown sugar (and cinnamon or nutmeg) and cook until it gets thick. Cool, then add the rest of the raw berries and mix gently. Then pour into prepared pie shells and top with whip cream. Yummmmm again.

We still have some pie - love all your delicious offers.

And pop? I'd love to check out your rhubarb, too!

;)

My recipe:

One Betty Crocker pie shell, arrange a layer of balogna slices to cover completely, then a layer of Cheese Doodles then more balogna, then more ... (you get the idea, kinda like lasagna) ... when you get the pie shell almost filled to top, cook for 20 minutes at 350. Top with M&M's for that festive party look and cook 5 more minutes. If its a formal occasion top with only the green M&M's. If someone wants whipped cream topping and you are out you can just slop a big dollup of mayonaise on there and it works good. Any leftover pie makes great baloney sammiches.

Standard Disclaimer: No dolphins were injured in the making of this baloney pie.

I like PIE.

They save our asses when the Minnies come in to invade Amarr. We should all bow down and worship PIE and their leaders. Hardin rules, apparently, well so he told two guys outside Victoria Station the other night.

I follow the Light.

Huh? I think you got some bad pie. Never order pie in a place like Joe's Eats and Oil Changes.

P.S. I think I saw the light way over there.

Nope, no bad PIE, only good PIE.

I'd love to know if anyone recognises wtf I'm on about. It's not all gibberish, honest!

P.S. I just turned on the Light.

It's from the World of EVE Gameplay site -

E V E - The second genesis

EVE takes place in a cluster of stars far from mankind’s original habitat, planet Earth. How far away, and whether or not that cradle of civilization still exists, is a mystery. Humans arrived through a natural wormhole and, gazing up upon an alien sky they had never seen, were completely unable to determine where this new world was located. From the New Eden solar system, where the gate of EVE once led to the old world, humans expanded in all directions at a furious pace, exploring and colonizing rapidly.

Then, unexpectedly and seemingly unprovoked, the EVE gate collapsed in an apocalyptic catastrophe of a scale never before witnessed by the human race, ruining the New Eden system in the process. Thousands of small colonies were left in complete isolation to fend for themselves, cut off from the old world. For millennia they endured, clinging to the brink of extinction, and only a handful managed to survive.

Of those that lasted, five were to rise up and become the major empires that, between them, hold the balance of power in the world of EVE. Today, they are known as the Amarr Empire, the Gallente Federation, the Caldari State, the Minmatar Republic, and the Jovian Empire. Additionally, the world is full of several small, independent factions and states.

For more than a century, the five empires have lived together in relative peace. They’ve continually strived to maintain this peace, as each faction realizes only to well the grave consequences of a massive inter-stellar war. Recent technological breakthroughs in FTL travel, and the ensuing increase in space travelers, have shaken, but not broken, the fragile peace... at least not yet.

I don't play it myself, but I've heard it discussed.

Actually, psyche, I was really more interested in pie.

And any other dirty tangent we can take from that somewhat naughty word. ;)

Mmmmm.... pie.

Vincent,
I am so glad to see that you bumped one of my very favorite threads. Pie.... is there anything better? The pies of summer.... cherry, peach, sweetsubsarah's blueberry.... are truly delicious. But the pies of autumn that you talk about are equally delectable. It is hard to decide between the firm, sweet-spicy-tartness of the apple pie, and the smooth, creamy pumpkin pie. It is true, as a matter of fact, that Ohio pumpkins are the sweetest around, and make the best pies. I think there is one thing we can agree upon.... all pie is best eaten warm, maybe even a little on the hot side.

Off to make some pie.....

I've got your hot piece of pie right here, baby.

Re: Mmmmm.... pie.

JJ,

I sure do wish you could have served up a slice of your cherry for
me.
Then again, didn't I get a slice of that last night? *kiss*

I'm making apple pie this weekend. I like the crumb top myself, but will make it double crust for my SO.
