they fired me because i wasn't ready to come back full-time. a week ago, i slipped and banged the crap out of my knee, making it impossible to walk around, which is needed as a waitress. they gave me a week to recupirate, but i wasn't ready. since i don't have medical insurance i haven't been to a doctor and my knee is still a bit swollen and pretty tender...anyway, i'm having a drink and trying to forget those bastards. that job sucked anyhow. :(

Oh fuck 'em. Sorry about your knee. Your next job will be a better one I hope.

Just hope your cash holds out.

Crappy jobs are meant to be gone through.
The trick is you have to quit in an over the top dramatic fashion.
Wait till you lose a job you really love and pays well.
I hope something turns up quick for you.

(((wicked)))

You'll find something soon.

I hope your knee heals quickly.

i slipped in beer last week at the bar and slammed my knee into the corner of a pool table. and now they fucking fire me?

It sounds like a worker's comp claim for the medical end of things....

If you've been disabled by a work injury....I think that legally they have to take you back if there is a position available to you after you recuperate....

Have you seen a doctor??

I had ths same thing happen to me one time when I worked in a bar. It wasn't my knee, it was my ribs, and it had occured cause the bastard I lived with kicked the shit outta me. I could walk, but I couldn't hold a tray above my waist.

So I was homeless AND jobless at the same time.

Good thing was:

1) got rid of the abuse.
2) found a better job.
3) found out who my real friends were.

Keep yer chin up. Thing will be better. Take care of that knee!

WF two questions

1. Were you working at the time this happened?
2. Do you live in the U.S.?

Talk to a work comp attorney....and see a doctor....

WF

I used to manage restaurants. The one thing I know is there is no such thing as off duty. The bar was in violation of federal labor law letting you work off the clock.

My advice is to contact a lawyer and/or the labor department where you live.

i guess i could, i just want to get on with my life and be able to walk around.

I know that feeling all to well. Two torn ligaments in my knee 6 months of PT the first time and 6 weeks the second time. It can be a pain in the ass but it does get better.

Then you should see a doctor...and you shouldn't have to pay for it......
