Here is my thread contribution, per Nitelight's request. I remember reading a story about a teacher who had her class write down one positive thing about each classmate. The teacher consolidated all of the lists for each child and presented their list to them. The story was about one of the kids who grew up and was later killed in Vietnam. His parents showed the teacher the well-worn list of positive things that their son had received in that class and had carried with him always to help him remember.

Can we do the same thing at Lit? A thread with no trolls, no flames, but only positive comments about each other? Please list something nice, something you admire, about your fellow Lit members.

I'll start with a quick list, with more to be added as I think of them:

Dixon: I admire Dixon's ability to keep his RL separate from his cyberlife, to feel comfortable in either world, without mixing them.

Lasher: His ability to speak the truth, and not give a damn what others think of him.

Xander: I admire his spunk- his guts in picking up his life and moving across an ocean to start a new life.

Laurel: She has guts in running a porn site. Not something most women would attempt. And she is good at it!

Golden: His oral skills. ;)

Nitelight: He is a romantic, and doesn't care if the whole world knows.

Dudley: He is stronger than he thinks he is. I know it.

Bobtoad: Marches to the beat of a different drummer, but still hears the music and keeps on going. He has faith.

Wizzie and Skitten: Not afraid to have fun with each other, and take pictures to show the rest of us!

Hecate: A determined woman - she has and will go far in life.

Angelique: Takes whatever curves life throws at her and keeps on going. Doesn't look back, only looks forward.

Bushido: Can make me laugh when I don't feel like it. Thanks, Pup.

No one else admires anyone on the board? You have nothing nice to say about anyone? Pick one person- it isn't that hard to be kind.

Ok, Cheyenne...you sucked me in. Here goes...

Cheyenne...sweetest of the sweets, my new pal. Has a great sense of humor and helps me bounce back when I need the rubber walls. (hmm...that probably didn't come out quite the way I had intended it to. ;) )

Wizard & Skitten...the bestest of the best. Two people who have become super duper close friends of mine. Wizard may not be able to spell yet, but by golly, he gives it his all. Skitten is a true inspiration (to this gal, anyway) and ranks way up there in the sweet category. Love ya' both!

Nikki...well what's not to like about Nikki. The woman has it all...awesome personality, incredibly witty, wonderful sense of humor, and is as beautiful outside as she is inside.

Rosie...one of my more crazy friends. Always manages to get me laughing on IM while I'm on the phone. Has an incredible talent for locating those hard to find (but always appropriate) animated gifs.

Havoc...a man gifted with the talent to write incredibly erotic poetry. I'm in awe of your abilities...and if you're ever giving classes, I'll be among the first to sign up (after Rosie and Nikki). :D

Whispersecret and DCL...my two very favorite writers. I can only dream of ever having talent such as these two.

ShyGuy...let's just say that this man isn't quite as shy as his name would indicate. ;)

Ok, there's lot's more, but since I'm in the middle of making Buckeyes (chocolate covered peanut butter balls, for those of you not from Ohio ;) ), I'll have to add to my list later.

Ok, I'll Bite. I admire

Dixon Carter Lee: Although of different designs than I, he is willing to explain and take time to explain and help people understand things.

more generalized, I admire all those on the board who in there own name/persona/nickname will speak whats on thier mind regardless of what people will think instead of hiding behind a mask for fear of damaging there name that they have established.

Nikki...well what's not to like about Nikki. The woman has it all...awesome personality, incredibly witty, wonderful sense of humor, and is as beautiful outside as she is inside.

Thank-you Angel.

As far as who I admire I dunno, I asked a very good friend of mine if she was going to post on this thread and she also was thinking about it.

It's a hard question because who you may admire one day you might loathe the next. Depending on what has happened in your life and with them.

I guess right now you could say I'm quite a bitter person. I have found that you only seem to get hurt in life when you offer trust to someone.

I admire ... Rosebud, for being who she is, for taking the time to show me that not everyone will hurt you. Thank-you Rosebud, although you may not know it, you have helped me today, just by being you.

Angel, for being able to get back on her feet after all the shit life has thrown at her.

Andy, cause he accepts me for me, he is one of the nicest most loving people in the world. I will say if you don't know him try to, he is worth every bit of friendship that he offers you.

Lasher, because Lasher stands up for what he believe's in, he offers help any time day or night, and he has helped me on more than one political topic (LOL).

And last but never least in my heart ... Havoc. I won't go into it here, but he is the love of my life. He pisses me off at times but what good man doesn't? (LOL) Havoc is the one person that knows me better than I know me. I love you babe.

As far as others, I like people but I'm not sure I would say I admire them.

Call me bitter but life shit's on you then makes you lie in it.

Have a good Christmas won't you.

I didn't even see this earlier, cause I wasn't expecting or wanting to be on anyones list, so thank you. thank you very much Cheyenne

I know I'm going to forget people, so I apologize in advance for that, but...

Laurel: I can't even begin to imagine the hassles involved with running a site that is this well done. There isn't thanks enough to express my appreciation.

Ezzy: Always makes me laugh, and on some days I need that more than oxygen. Plus, he responds to stuff I say, and in general he's made me feel really welcome here. :)

Sparky: I wish I could write posts even half as interesting as Sparky's. This is who I want to be when I grow up.

DCL: I'm still laughing about 'Euclid say that'. I really enjoy intelligent people, and he's right up there in the ranks.

Tiggs: She keeps her chin up no matter what. Way to go, girl. You know your worth. :)

Closet Desire: That intelligence thing, again. Love it, love it, love it. I appreciate people who make me think.

Bobtoad: Cheyenne pretty much nailed it. :)

R Nitelight: He just seems like an all around great guy. We need more of those in the world.

Ambrosious: He walks the talk. Helping that grandfather and his family is worth more than a few cool points in my book.

There are too many people to list and too many reasons. Everyone who contributes to this site deserves a thank you. I love it here. I only wish I had more to contribute.

Kind words ....

Hmmmm, this thread didn't go over nearly as well as I thought it would- but thanks to those of you who tried it.

Angelique- I didn't have to suck too hard, did I? ;) And thank you. Laughter is always better than tears.

Rosebud, I wish I could see which GIF you selected for me! And thank you, too.

Nicole- see? Even feeling bitter you were able to come up with SOME good things to say about people!

Bobtoad, you're welcome. And hang in there, because someday you're going to run into a woman who hears the same music you do. And then, watch out!

naudiz- You follow directions well! Thanks for your input- I'll bet you made a few people smile. And that was the idea.

Handy Andy- Merry Christmas to you, too.

First and foremost, let me say that I admire everyone who posts on here, especially those who say their mind, at times that takes a lot of courage, courage that I don't always have.

Secondly, I admire many of the posters because they make me think, they make me laugh, they make me curious or they make me sad.

And finally, some specific people that I admire and why...

Laurel - because without her, we wouldn't have an on-line home

Sparky - because he's always thinking of something that will make us think

DCL - because of his way with words

CelestialBody - because she speaks her mind

Kitten Eyes - because she's quick with support

Ticklish Girl - because of her dedication to what she writes

And many, many more who's posts I try to always read, keep up the great work everyone

I'd just like to say that I admire everyone who has the balls to belong to a community like this. And I especially would like to thank Cheyenne for starting a thread like this, I know the story she mentions and it is touching to the point if inducing tears.

One day I'd like to be able to comment in detail on what it is about each and every one of you that I admire. No doubt each of you does have something admirable to comment on. For now suffice to say I admire you all for helping lead me into a wide new world of internet, intelegence and some shared interests.

I just saw this. Thank you so much, MOS. What a thrill it is to be included with so many heavy hitters. :)

I don't know many of you but I admire and like a number of the people here.

Killer Muffin - because she's funny and intelligent and strong.
Closet Desire - because of his great story sense and seemingly endless well of literary knowledge.
Merelan - because she's very seductive and a lot of fun to RP with.
ShyGuy68 - I've only just "met" him but he seems very friendly.
R Nitelight - You've gotta admire anyone who's confident enough in himself to take the title of "Snide Bastard."
Man O Safety - because he's friendly and brings a sense of fun to his RPs (I would have included him even if he didn't mention me).
Angie Girl - read her contributions to the Society of the Dare SRPG thread. Nuff said. :)

I know I missed people, so let me just say that I second and even third what has already been said about other members. :)

Geez...almost lost this thread!

Gosh...I was so flattered to see my name on here. I'll be floating on that for days. I had to think a while about who I wanted to recognise because there are so many incredible personalities on Literotica. I don't get around too much so my contact has been limited, but here goes...

Laurel...for using her personal passion to create an unrivaled site where we can get together, share ideas, and be inspired. She has made it possible for a lot of talented writers to hone their skills and gain confidence. Anybody who has a folder full of rejection letters from publishers can only be encouraged by what Literotica offers.

Ticklish Girl...for calling up her own sensual awareness and writing stories that make me smile and that convince me that something ordinary or even a bit odd can be erotic. She must use magic ink!

Angie...she is so wicked, capricious, and fun. She seems to write in a way that reflects her own spirit. I find what she writes infectious and inspiring. She's certainly shown me some different perceptions about writing.

SexyRedHed...for her courage and punchy style. She's always game to play and manages to take on topics that might intimidate the rest of us. And so young! I was truly a babe in the woods!

Finally, Closet Desire-able (I know...sort of cheating isn't it?) for inspiring me to finally succeed at writing instead of failing. Every erotic story I've ever written is about her. Every book or story I've published I owe to her.

Ah...that felt really good!

Cheers!

Oh hell yeah! My asperations toward irrelevancy have been realized!!! WooFUCKINGhoo! Heheh!

Yeah.....

What if BobToad didn't hear music? Yah know - I think he may be deef. Silenced by the siren of the Lord.
