I have read several post about getting the special tenth vote. What does that mean when you get your tenth vote?
Just curious.

Well, your tenth vote is when your story qualifies for rankings. So the tenth vote can propel you to the top of the category if you've gotten all fives. It is also when it is decided whether you get an "H" or not.

Unfortunately there are self-appointed vote correctors out there who like to make sure your eleventh vote is a 1.

Votes count from the first time you see your story posted and vote yourself a five. When you look at your submissions page or the category story index, there you will be, score 5.00 - votes 1, but no H or a place at the top of the Top List.

You must have ten votes to be eligible for the Top Lists and you receive the pink H automatically if your average score then is 4.5 or better.

That is why the tenth vote is so vital. With contests, all that stuff applies but you must get 25 votes to be eligible to win a prize. Makes sense when you think about it.

Why was your sixth rejected? Would you like me to take a look at it?

Edited to add;

Your links don't work. Try [URL ]http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=289263[ /URL] without any gaps in the brackets. Should look like this;

Thank you for the advice Elfin

I am afraid that I started out on typewriters and these computers are a bit over my head. When I look at the sample link you did on you reply it looks the same as my links. Please take the time to talk to me like I am a four year old and tell me what I am doing wrong since your link works and mine don't. Do you mean that I type in the letters URL before and after and what about the brackets I don't see them on your link?
I hope I don't come across as stupid as I feel. I can chew gum and walk at the same time. really I can!
mike
PS
I would like to share the rejected story with you let me know where to send it. Is there a place where you can post a story to encourage discussion?

Mikey, you're just like me. I only found out things because the clever so-and-sos here told me. Never hesitate to ask - folks are pretty helpful here. Just going away to do one of those 'How To's that suggest I know what I'm talking about. Will post it here.

Either mail me with the attachment or paste in a PM. Am away Monday thru Wednesday but I can look tomorrow.

Here's the easiest way to do it:

When you write a post here in the forum, right above the white box where you type your text, there's a "button" in the toolbar directly above the text box that looks something like a globe with an infinity sign under it (actually it's the "links" of a chain).

Click that.

A pop-up box will show up asking you for the text to use for your link. You can just type the title of your story, or whatever, then click "okay."

Then, another little pop-up will appear, demanding the address, or url, of your link. It's easiest just to copy & paste it from another browser tab (if you use Firefox), or another window.

Click "okay."

There. You're done. :)

(I really should stop being helpful. It's ruining my reputation)

If they knew over in AH how soft-hearted you and Jenny J are here, eyebrows would be raised.

No shit.

Gauche has already started in, telling me that I broke my clean bitchiness record yesterday when I helped a newb.

*sigh*

I need to stop.

So True

Those words are the absolute truth. Nothing inspires trolls like a perfect score. They feed on it like a school of pirrahnas.

thank you all for the help

It is kinda like one of those time travel movies where you do something and then you go back to a post from yesterday, and what you did today is there already.
Cloudy and Elfin get special affection (is that a word?) anyway they both get a grin and a thanks from me.
