I just ordered a new PC

1. All that monies and no Blu-ray?
2. Double GeForce 8800 graphiics, but no better audio than the on-board crap?
3. Floppy but no card reader?

I can see that our priorities goes in different directions, sir.

That's the beauty of the PC though. Freedom of choice. :)

I think I would've gone for another hard drive. 250 gig wouldn't last ten minutes in my house.

Plus I'd have built it myself for probably less than half that price:eek:

(It's really not that difficult these days)

yeah... I have a 250 and a 500... with 30% left :( The GForce 8800 3D graphics is great, but I'd add a bomb sound card.

I'm not entirely sold on dual processors yet. Other than some games, they don't really do much.

I think I'm a gamer, and there are a lot of games that don't work well on Macs.

Bah! The ones we do have are the only ones we NEED. There's no unnecessary clutter in the Mac universe, my friend! :p

Besides, half of your drive will be filled with internet porn downloads, so it doesn't matter in the short run! :D

1) Don't need. I watch DVDs on my TV, and BlueRay won't be a standard for a long time. I update every three years, and I'm still predicting I won't need one then.

2) I have an unopened Audigy Soundblaster and some unopened speakers right behind me from another purchase. I use headsets most of the time anyway though.

3) The floppy was free, or I wouldn't have bothered with it. I didn't need the card reader because I don't use those accessories. I don't transfer much info from one PC to another ever. In fact, I don't at all here at home.

I thought I clicked on the 500 gig hard Drive! FUCK!

And every time I try to play around with PC hardware myself something gets broken. I'm done fucking up my systems. I'd rather pay for someone else to do it.

I don't download porn. I watch it all in flash movies from fantasti.cc

I prefer AMD to Intel. Both are very good now days, just personal preference.

1) I agree, the only reason for DVD on a computer is for large program installs or to burn disks to watch on TV.

2) some onboard sound is better tha 3/4 of the sound cards out there.

3) Floppy can be needed for raid setup ant Winblows install. Other than that a thumbdrive is the proper way to ransfer anything. Hell you can get 2GB drives at Staples or Office Depot on sale for $15.

Overall as a Computer Tech that builds sells and repairs, you got yourself a nice hot rod :D

I have had three AMD processors, and have had nothing against them. But most of the gaming community has been saying that Intel is ahead by a significant margin lately, so I went with that instead. This is actually my first gaming rig with an Intel chip. I usually only use them at work.

I also use mine for backups all the time.

And I agree about floppies: once in a GREAT while, you actually need a floppy for something. But it's an admittedly unusual circumstance these days.

I'm kinda envious, Jenny. I've got over 2 terabytes here and I'll almost certainly be doubling that near the end of this year. I've been considering adding a 2 or 3Tb RAID array out of 750MB or 1Tb hard disks. (Work stuff and a few other things.)

It looks like a good system for what you want Thee.

Only thing I would suggest is be on the lookout for sales on power supplies, you will be able to get a better one fairly cheap and they are easy to swap out, only four screws.

Take a pic of the wiring connects if you get confused, before install.

Edited to add: Oooops, I just seen what I missed, nevermind, that is good also.
