That I am sooooooo happy I found this forum!

This is fast turning into my new *home* on the web!

Although I have been posting less than a week, I have already seen what a truly wonderful bunch of people come here. I have posted on other (nilla) boards ... many times arguments have caused deep rifts - there seems none of that here.

Everyone is treated with respect. That is such a rare occurance that I felt I just HAD to say something!

Everybody truly welcomes newbies - be they to posting or to the lifestyle or to both. Again - so rare to find experienced and establish people so ready and willing to point us in the right direction. And so wonderful that it is done in such a way that we (for that, read I) do not feel be-littled or made to look foolish.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

humbly,
willow :rose:

We re very glad to have you and as indicated by your observations, all that some of us have worked for is being achieved!

It is a forum built upon the idea of respect and safety. We want this to be a safe place for people to exchange ideas and thoughts. And yes, this is definitely my net home!

Now, I haven't been posting here much this week....what have I missed?

:)

A warm welcome to you, willow. :rose:

willow, welcome!
i agree with you wholeheartedly.... i've been here at Lit since March, and i feel like i have been here all my life. The people here have made me feel so welcome.. This is my home on the net.. i spend about 80% of my online time, here at Lit, cuz i'm afraid i will go away, and miss something!!
Anyway, please feel free to ask any questions that you have, or state any opinions.... that's what this board is for! (of course, done respectfully). Can't wait to see more posts from you!!

I couldn't have put it better myself Willow. The people here are very kind and welcoming.

You haven't yet seen us when we're all cycling together, obviously.
Wooohooo! We can be major bitches then.
(Shut up, T! It is NOT only me!)
:D

Ahem.
Yeh.
This is a cool place.
Think i'll hang out awhile, too.
I kinda like it here.
:rose:

Yeah but....

It is my job to be a bitch!

Ebony

Okay, it's your job, Eb, but the rest of us only get to do it on a very part-time basis.
Well.
Hmmm.
R and i get to do it to chase boogey-men away, too.
One of the bennies of the job, i think!

Anyway, willow, a very warm welcome to you and those like you. We're deliberately informal in terms of "status" here, and conciously strive to be open and embracing of those who chance upon us with questions, concerns, and tales to tell. We've been so from the very beginning, when we were one small (then not-so-small) thread in the How To... forum.

It's people like you who help us retain and refine the aura of warmth and acceptance that is at our core. Please be welcome here, you and those who are relatively new like you. You won't feel new for very long, not if this community is a match for your needs.
:rose:

Thank you cym and all of you ...

I am still reeling at how 'at home' I feel here. The reception my posts have recieved both in the forum and in PM's has astounded me! I think everyone here ought to give themselves a pat on the back ...

or get their masters to give them ...
or ....

well, to borrow a phrase from the youth around here ... whatever rocks your boat!

Because after sooo much denial, I have decided that somebody needed to make this visual pun:

~snorting giggle~
Funny pic, NemoAlia.
Did you do it especially for us?
What an accomplished little piano player you are!
:D

WillowPuss, I agree with you 100%, everyone here has ben remarkably friendly and helpful.

Yeah, I kinda like this place.
And, I hope by following cym and Risia around, that I may become more of a lady with a bit of fire. :)

Welcome, Willow. Lovely name.

Yes, it's all for you. Like Willow, I'm constantly impressed by the loveliness of this forum, so I'm trying to 'give something back.' I'm glad you liked the pic!

Heh -- and cym, you're the first person in my entire life who has ever called me a "piano player." For that to be true would require a player piano! Nope, I'm a violinist, born and bred.

Okay then! A thousand thousand pardons, darlin'.
May i remark, instead, on what an accomplished little fiddle player you are?
:D

raindancer?
I'd use my car to mow people down on the sidewalk to be as soothingly supportive and uncannily wise as you are all the time. Uh. Well. If mowing people down on the sidewalk wasn't counter to being supportively wise, anyway.
;)

errrrrrrr ... perhaps you could be supportive of those you ran down?
Do you know First Aid????

and ... raindancer - thanks for the comment about my name :)
Its a long story as to how I chose it ... but I am pleased I was able to make my own AV from it.

Let me put a harmony on the "Welcome Song"

i came in with Sierra Moon, in March. My reactions were exactly what you have described.

Although Sierra has me beat by 1000 miles as far as RL experience goes, i have been utterly transformed by the things i've learned here, and the incredible inhabitants of this little grove of alternative sanity that our moderators have carved out for us.

Only 3½ months here, and already i can feel the joy cymbidia described to me, of watching the intelligent, open, new minds coming into this environment. Seeing their wonder and curiousity being met with encouragement and experience.

Watching these innocent wanderers blossom into really warped, sick, jaded thrill junkies is endlessly fascinating.

i loved your comment in cym's "Singletail" thread
"*gulp*

I don't think I am ready for that yet ...

(oh my! I said yet!)"

You'll LOVE this place, and we .... we feed on people like you ... mmmm fresh blood.

Don't worry, i can't drink blood with my tongue in my cheek. A sincere welcome, GREAT screen name BTW.

Thank you DRxBlue :)

That's another thing that I find just so likeable and refreshing about this forum ... the posters have not left their senses of humour behind!

At times I have been PMP ... well, hang on, that not entirely true ... cos I don't WEAR them at home anymore ... hmmmmmmm will have to strat off a whole new abreviated language .... *exaggerated sigh*

willowpuss

Thanks for your report re. the situation on other sites. This is actually the only site of this sort I have ever visited.

I suppose I could be sensible and shop out alternatives but I like it here so much why bother?

There is always help, humour, polls, new ideas and a vast array of subjects on the menu. If there are better sites I am not worthy.

That photo of the Literotica Bitches on bikes is news to me though. Hmmm. Snow will keep them out of Canada.

Welcome.

I just thought I'd bump this up to say that I think WillowPuss has been a delightful new addition to our little community. I have delighted in her posts, and I hope she stays around with us for a long long time and lets us share in the excitement of her explorations.
For you, Willow:rose:

"beat by a 1000 miles", Blue?? lol... great choice of words... although, i don't know that they are exactly true... i'm still learning, and my Dom has promised much further progress the next time we play... (will probably end up being my birthday present... hmmm, 35 whacks with a studded paddle..mmmm).....

They don't call her SM for nothin'

Come to think of it...they don't call her SM. :D

But the point is, Sierra, they DO call you.

So -- 35 whacks, the day after Independence Day, eh? That sound very interesting. Perhaps i've learned as much as you...from reading, but as cym is always pointing out, you haven't learned a thing until the paddle hits the skin.

Willow, living so near one of the greatest cities on the planet, with an attitude as sweet as yours, and your curiosity, you should have little trouble finding play partners.

i live in Northern Minnesota, where interest in sexual experimentation is very limited. My RL experience consists of some experiments with clothes pins and wax, just to understand the process of endorphin release. (They don't call me "Doctor" for nothin')

BDSM masturbation brings new meaning to the old phrase "self abuse". lol

There's no element of surprise, no interplay between wills. You CAN'T "exchange power" with yourself...unless you've got multiple personalities.

i'm not really complaining, just a bit frustrated that having discovered something so wonderful, it should be only a "spectator sport".

Gee, Sierra, maybe on my next birthday i could have someone clip 51 clothes pins to various body parts all threaded on a string, then pull them off slowly to the tune of "Happy Birthday".

Willow luv, i wish you luck, and that you'll share your experiences when you have them. Sierra's been good about that. Just click the "search" button beneath her post, you'll see.

It means a lot to an old man. (Ooo..they don't call him Blue for nothin')

Blue.... you are a wonderful man.. do you know that?? i always get a smile on my face, when reading any of your posts...:)
i would not be where i am right now, with the courage to experience some of the things that have been put to me, without my friends here, listening to my tales, and answering my questions...i am soooo very fortunate to have found this wonderful place. Blue, i consider you a good friend, and if there is ANYTHING i can do for you, please let me know... (have clothespins, will travel.. :p )
love to you all... sierra

WillowPuss .... Welcome to Lit ...... This is like no other place.

My wife and I have been really enjoying ourselves here, and I'm sure you will too.

My wife and I are still new to BDSM, but have to say, it and Lit have saved our marriage.

We've found out so much about ourselves. It's helped us open up our deepests thoughts and desires without fear of repercusions.

Please exuse the mis-spellings:)

Again ..welcome ... oh and sorry Iwas late :)

Now: which of those statements isn't of any importance at all, Rooster?
:rose:

(It's so nice to see you posting more.)

*I* just need to say...

...I've been having a very difficult few weeks, with several more ahead. I had very little time to spend here, as has been the case with increasing frequency lately, and it was wonderful to come in (albeit days behind) and read such a positive thread.

Thanks to you all!
:rose:

And now, I really should go back to the books.
God I hate grad school.
