Having just read another excellent Lit story, you reach the end and
those fateful words appear,to be continued

Then you wait and wait but it never happens.

I just hate it.

Yeah, that bugs me too, just when you get into a story and can't wait to see how it, and you, comes out...

You know what else I hate?

I hate it when stupid...

To be continued.

I hate that too, which is why I always resisted positng my serials a chapter at time, but waited until the whole damn thing was finished before hitting the SEND button.

There was this one erotic story from long ago that I was really enjoying. There were six chapters, and each one was to be continued into the next. Thing is, at the end of the six one, it read "To be concluded" but the writer never got around to writing that last chapter.

After about a year, I actually decided to write a "conclusion" to the story myself. Wasn't as long as the first six chapters. Didn't submit it or anything either. Just wanted to write it so as to bring an end to the story arc in my mind. Still, it would of been great to read the authors own version of the end.

Stories, books, I have the same reaction.

I cannot start in chapter 3 of a series of stories or book 4 in a group of books.

AND I have absolutely NO patience waiting for the next installment. I've finally learned not to start a series of stories until they're all posted.

Books, I haven't got the willpower to do it. I end up haunting the bookstore when #3, #4, or even #10 is supposed to be out.

I've written one trilogy...

and two parts of another.

But all the parts can be read as stand alone stories.

That wayI don't feel guilty if I don't feel like taking the thing any further...

:)
