My not-quite-7 year old daughter came up to me and asked to have her braids taken out. So, I took em out, and she shook her hair out, then she looked at me and asked:

"Mom, does this make me look like Britney Spears?"

Thank GOD!

For christmas, one of my aunt's got Raegan her own discman (a cheap one, thank god, cause I just know in this house that it won't last), and my 15 year old sister gave her a bunch of own old CD"s. We now have Britney, N'sync, and BSB's.

Yay!

Can ya feel the excitment!!!

I use that rule often. I have one set of friends who almost always buy noisy things for the kids for birthday's and christmas. Around thanksgiving, they found out they are expecting thier first child.

When they asked for Christmas suggestions for the kids, I smiled sweetly and said, Buy them anything you wish, but remember that at this time next you, you will have a baby of your own for me to spoil.

The gifts were much tamer this year. Hmm.. wonder why?

I actually drove 300 miles to take my daughters and three friends to see Brittney Spears in concert. That was 4 years ago and she has grown out of that stage.

You will survive. Just wait until you find rap crap music in her room.

Ah hell, you can sometimes hear the rap on our own stereo ;)

Now, for driving? My step mother (bitch that she is, this was actually way cool of her) took me and my best friend to a Vanilla Ice concert and actually sat through it with us when we were 12. 3rd row, right in front of a huge wall of speakers. Couldn't have been pleasant for her. :)
