Found these awesome rat traps called 'Jaws'.
They have teeth that guarantee a catch.
And today, I discovered that of I catch a rat then his buddies will come and eat him if I don't get to the trap in a timely manner :)
I really need to send this company a Thankyou email :D

In deference to the gb.....
I fully support the right of the rat to have a full life, with unlimited access to my hard-grown grain and hay. Rats need to eat too!

Give me Shit, but I laid 15 traps. And caught 15 rats that were eaten by their mates.
I fucking RULE!

Fuck that shit. Kill 'em all! Let God sort 'em out.

Never had a rat problem, but then, I've always had cats. I've fostered a few rats and generally I really like them. But as for the wild ones, I rarely see them unless they're dead and given to me as a gift by one of the cats, usually Nick. So I guess they are here, somewhere, or he wouldn't be able to find them. But they don't bother me, I don't bother them.

I hate rats

Why does everyone hate rats so much? I like them. They're super smart and adorable and will ride around on your shoulder. And their little hands look human! Is it because I've never had them steal my food and shit?

I once had a pet rat when I was younger. He ran away. Now I'd rather have a reptile for a pet than a rodent.
I do find the idea of cannibal rats really gross though.

Yeah, it's also weird as fuck. Animals don't usually go cannibal unless they're desperate for food. I mean, if there's grain right there, they'd go for that first.

Nope -.these rats have a ton of food (grain and hay stockpiled.in the barn) yet they still.eat one of their own caught in a Jaws.trap.

Ew, that is really gross. How do you officially get rid of rats? Like, for good? Do you just keep putting traps out until they are all dead and there is none left? With a bunch of hay and stuff around it is probably hard to keep them away though.

I live on a farm - we have vermin in the fields. It's the way of things *shrug*

Here's a fucked up trick from my grandma, since you said your cat brings you live rats. I have no idea how this works, but get some thick gloves, like gardening gloves, and take the live rat. Dip it in paint, preferably white. Everything but the head because you don't want to drown it. Then take that painted rat back to the barn and let it go. The entire rat clan will just leave.

I have no idea if this works, but my grandma claims that this is a thing and it's the easiest way to get rid of rats. It's really fucking weird, but maybe they get freaked out by the fumes or something? I d/k.

I just really want to know if this would work because it sounds like complete bullshit. Has anybody else heard about this paint thing?

If you mix a little mint in with the hay rats won't go near it. It's pretty easy to keep them out of hay.
