I have been a born again christian for 20 years, and i know that lust is a sin so how do i masturbate without committing the sin of lust? any and all help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you're thinking about masturbation, you're being lustful already. I doubt your church condemns thought, though--if you're not allowed to masturbate, just don't masturbate. (Alternately, switch churches. There are plenty of churches that would argue that masturbation is allowable, and I think there are good doctrinal arguments backing them up.)

OK. I'm guessing you are a guy in a wheelchair who has a hard time finding a girlfriend due to your condition and that you have "feelings and thoughts" like everyone else does. I'm also guessing that due to your condition you have turned to religion to help explain the inequities in life.
I've never really tried to convert anyone or make light of their religious beliefs but I think I'll try to take a minor stab at it this time. It really turns me off when I see people just seem to go overboard in believing 100% of what their religion teaches them. I guess that's where faith comes in and that is very important to many people. But, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of different religions with the same number of different beliefs. Obviously, in the big picture, at least every single one of them, with maybe the exception of one, does not have it right 100% and it is very possible than none of them has it right 100%.
To me religious beliefs need to be rooted in common sense and morals. Some of the teachings in every single religion have elements that just aren't common sense. I personally don't really believe it is a sin to masturbate as that really doesn't make common sense to me. It's ok to indulge yourself in pleasure going to an amusement park or watching a great movie or playing a video game but don't you dare grab that cock and wank on it! A lot of this stuff is merely rooted in the aspect that sex is only for having children and that's it - so there will be more people to spread that particular religion and add to that church's coffers. People can go to the very extreme in their beliefs such as it is a sin for married people to have sex unless it is for the express purpose of having children. That just seems ridiculous to me. I'm not saying dump your religion and I really hate to say believe in some parts of if it but not others, but, somehow common sense has to trump blind faith, especially in some areas. I once knew a registered threapist that was the leader of her churche's bible study group. She was primarily a social worker in her 9-5 job, but also did marriage counsiling several weekends a week for several churches in the area. Oddly, and I could go on but I won't, she was also having an extramarital affair with me. Her opinion was (to paraphrase Gordon Geco in "Wall Street"), "lust, is good". God gave us lust to be attracted to members of the opposite sex (don't want to get into a discussion about gay relationships, but frankly, that's ok too) in order to procreate the species. Admiddedly, it can take other forms, but in my opinion, if it doesn't really hurt someone or cause them physical or emotional pain, and if it helps them and supports them in life, then it's ok. I'm sure a devout Christian may not agree with me, but I think we worry too much about "sins" committed in the bedroom between consenting adults (or by our selves) and not enough about the sins of bombing innocent women and children in foreign lands or the greed and "money lust" of bankers and greedy CEO's who destroy lives of hard working citizens by sending jobs overseas or saddling people with more housing debt than they rightfully can handle and end up having them lose their homes. All those do-gooders out there should be more concerned with what's happening to many innocent unemployed homeless people than what goes on behind closed doors of bedrooms.
