:D Glad to hear it!

But does this mean I talked you out of going back to school for accounting? :( Damn. I'm going to lose my merit badge for high recruitment numbers. ;)

No, you haven't talked me out of it but you did give me some things to think about. I will probably still go back to school but on a part-time basis at night. Probably not in the near future either. I have a "body project" going on right now...I suspect it's part of the reason I'm being rejected so easily and I'm out to prove myself wrong...although I think I'm right.

The best preparation would be to relax.

Ah, I think I understand. Don't do that to yourself, doubt will only hurt your self confidence in the interview process. A "body project" is good if you are doing it for you. In the meantime, go in there in your best business outfit, head held high. Be confident that YOU are the person they want! They just don't know it yet! There are many companies with people in hiring positions who will look past any perceived flaws and hire based only on skill and potential. THAT is the kind of place where you want to work. I've taken flack before for hiring older workers, fat workers, gay workers, even black workers. (Do you know how rare black CPAs still are?) I don't care. If the person has the skill set and attitude I'm looking for, I don't care what they look like or who they sleep with. They are hired. Go get 'em!

just wanted to wish you the best of luck.

hope all goes well for ya

You are a rare breed of hiring manager then and I applaud you. Some of the comments and looks during the interviewing processes that I've heard and seen would make you ill as well as the treatment I've received on the job. I've got the skills...I avg. scores of 90% on skills exams. However, this type of discrimination isn't against the law and very difficult to prove. My physician told me when I was younger that although he thought I was a great girl it would benefit me to loose the weight not for health reasons (although important) but because my life would be easier. I think I'm a pretty girl...I just don't have the right body, I never have. I want to know what it feels like to not have that be an issue both in business and my personal life. My guess is that I'll have an easier time finding work, earn more money, and getting dates will be easier. I want to know what it's like to not have complete strangers come up to me and give me diet tips. I want to know what it feels like to not have asshole men shout mean things out their car windows as I'm outside walking (exercising). I don't want to be invisible.

Blue, hun you can only controll yourself. Be as prepared as you can be, know that you are the person they need, and keep your confidence up, you will do fine.

Good luck to you in any case.

Thanks. I think I have a good idea of how you feel, from both sides of the hiring table. Invisible is a good description.

Hang in there!
