I want to tell my many fans that I am sorry I have not responded to email or written any stories lately. I have been dealing with cancer. I am hoping to be back in about a month. God willing.

I'm sorry to read about your medical problem. Manu and I send our best wishes, and hope to see you back very, very soon. Please let us know if there's anything we can do to help. Take care of yourself, be well, and stay strong.

Well that sucks big time. Best of luck to you! From your smiley face and upbeat words you seem to be one of us "afflicted" persons with a winning attitude! I don't know if you've done it yet, but you might want to put something in your profile explaining that you're on hiatus due to personal problems. That way fans don't feel slighted that you haven't emailed them.

If you're like me and incredibly insecure, you've probably kept every single one of the good feedback emails. If there aren't so many, you could also do a mass mailing letting them know that you'll be out of action for a while, but when you get back you'll be better than ever.

Or, you could just smile. :)

I am sorry to hear of your illness and wish you the best in everything. My mother won her battle and I pray that you do as well. Keep a positive attitude !

Most important!~~~~As you did with the above note.Write what you are driven to write, and do it when you are able to do it without harming you,or anyone else.

Fight. This is a fight that so many win. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I do not know you personally but that does not matter all that much. Cancer touches so many and if you live long enough you learn to hate it, and to love those who endure this fight. My prayers are with you. Come back soon.

On pondering your situation,May I also suggest:

The world of illness has touched many, cancer I hear is one of the most cruel diseases.I know there have been many people who have had cancer, and then became authors.I would appreciate the views of one such as you,who is a writer first, then secondly became ill with cancer.

I am sure this has been done before, but I would love to hear your chronicles.
1~What led to the diagnosis

2~Your emotional shifts upon discovery

3~The treatment and how it affect you personally

4~How you feel currently

5~What your true expectations are etc.

P.S.~I recommend a book also, the author is*Lorraine Day*,(I'm not sure if that is spelled correctly)and I don't remember the title, but you can find her works online,or at a health food store that stocks books.

Thoughts and thank you

Thank you everyone who answered and read. All good thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated. I go in for treatment soon and I am convinced I will be cured. I will keep everyone posted. Other than some evening dreads I have not changed my attitude or persona. Masterhypnotist

:(Sorry to read your post. As one who had news years ago of malignant cells, I know how frightening the word cancer truly is.

Since you were informed, have you experienced all the cliches? The grass is greener, the sky more blue, roses smell sweeter (I could finish this as a poem-but I would hate to make you suffer through that!) These feelings will continue to stay with you over the years, reminding you to live and appreciate each day.

And it will be years, 'cause I know you'll have it beat with your treatment and be writing shortly once again.

Best Wishes, Hopes and Prayers :)

well wishes

First of all let me join all the others who wish you well MH..

It is strange how we tend to forget (maybe I am the only one) that there are real human being behind the names here. That we all have personal lives. We each have our own demons and fears. We have families who drive us nuts. We are all more than the words we pen. I am sorry it takes something like this to remind me that the writers here are human beings as well as prose and opinions.

Ring up one more prayer for masterhypnotist

When i first saw the title of this thread, i thought:
"This oughta be good, must be a joke! hmmm...where could this highway lead me?"

When i found out that, unfortunately, it was true, i felt pretty much the reaction MysteryWriter just expressed so elegantly.

Sometimes i wish i really were a doctor.

i've heard from many survivors that the best way to deal with it is to FIGHT. The phrase "Beating Cancer" is a true image.

Maybe you can use your literary skills as a weapon against it. i know that the BEST music comes from pain & suffering. They're good fuel for generating creative energy.

Best of luck!:rose:
