I've peeked around nearly all of the boards here on Lit, now, to get a good feel for the site. :) That "Survivor" thing looks like it's rather cool, but way beyond my means for this year, I believe.

But, I was wondering, in regards to that contest could two authors working on the same theme be considered a "chain" or does it have to be more than two? :)

Thanks for the link, Lauren, and for the information. I would not have read this at all, and, from the small amount I have read so far, it's a beautifully told story.

Yes, it is. :)

One difficulty with a chain story is persuading the other author(s) to do their part.

My Chap 01 of The Worst Chain Story Ever sat for weeks (it seemed like years!) before the next part was submitted. One part never materialised so there is a gap. Who cares? The title allowed for almost any failure...

It is still included in the 2005 directory under "active chains", so the failure lives on. :D

The directory is quite right. Essential aspects of a bad chain story are that it has gap(s) and is unfinished. Therefore the "Worst Chain Story Ever" by definition must be perennially active.
