Hello MoonWolf and CelestialBody, first allow me to introduce myself I'm AJ. I'm new here. Been drifting from place to place trying to meet people. I understand Celestials' definition of a troll. The last thing I want to do is to alieniate some of the regulars around here, however I have noticied that there is a defintie click around here. I think some people are just jerks but does that mean you don't want them around? I'm just asking because around here it seems your either for or against. I usally don't get involve in these types of discussions, then again I usally don't interact with the "regulars" to often. This is not meant to agreviate either. I'm just thinking out loud. I really enjoy the varity of people here and I don't feel threatened by anyone. Guess I'm starting to sound like one of those trolls you were talking about. I was just thinking that some times the only way a person can get noticed is to do something that stands out in peoples minds. Even if it turns them into a troll. However some people are just plain P. Ricks'. Sorry if I came to a place where I wasn't invited.

guess you're right to attempt this noble trait. Don't beat yerself up over it too much, though, cause as long as there is free speech (which I agree with) I guess we have to deal with those that have to voice their opinion without a spine.(You spineless idiots......we shall seek thee and ridicule you to the best of our abilities.....if I have anything to do with it that is.....lol.....and we do.....)

Even if we do get flamed by them, we are at least getting flamed by someone with a face of a sort. And the thing about the cliques... Its just a bunch of friends watchin each others backs. Nothing wrong with that. S'too bad the newbies have to be put off by it or feel left out because of it...

A person who shamlessly attacks another, posting as a "guest".
Alas a person who doesn't have the guts to, as Ravenloft said, take responsebility for his/hers words.
More often than never, they tend to have fake email adress and the such, so they can't be contacted off the BB.

I hate them too, and I have had my fair share of them as well. Most of mine has not been on this BB, but has just send me those annoying hate mails.
I usually just return then with a big "fuck you" sign attached to the mail. Usually does the trick. Or sometimes I just delete them. Who wants to deal with people like that anyway.

That about sums it up. Like Cheyenne said at "Dan Rather"'s thread... She and I may not always agree on things or get along, but we have ALWAYS posted to one another under our member names. Neither one of us has ever been childish enough to go "hide" under another user name or in "guest" status to insult the other.

I think it's pretty safe to say most people here hate Trolls. I sure do. 99% of the time they are just around to try to cause trouble for others at the site.

All this talk about trolls brought back a memory from my childhood. It was the early 80s, and my sister and I were at my grandma's house one afternoon. It was either summer or we were not in school yet. Anyway, my grandma was watching "As The World Turns"... There was a long skit in that soap involving a troll who lived in a cave, etc. I remember being scared as hell at that thing! lol Everytime the troll would come onto the TV, I'd burry my face in the couch and hide!

Hell, around 3 or 4 I was also scared of the Incredible Hulk when he'd get all big and mean and scary! lol

I had a realy weird nightmare about that dang Geoffry. Snuffy is cool. There was another Muppet on Sesame St. that kinda scared me for awhile. Forgot his name but now I like him when I see the newer muppet movies.

Kinda weird that these things that are supposed to entertain kids are actualy scaring the shit out of some of them. Wonder how many kids have been traumatised by those damn Telletubbies? They give me a heebie jeebies.
