Whoever decided that melodramatic piece of fluffy shit called Christmas Shoes was a Christmas song should be taken out behind the barn and summarily shot.

Its depressing, maudlin and it just sucks.

Its bad enough that everywhere I go today I got to listen to Blue Christmas.

Actually, the Elvis and Dean Martini versions are pretty cool but somebody ought to have a chat with radio programers about Christmas Shoes. That song is fucking appalling.

I heard an interview on the radio the other day with the guy who wrote it. He's a veternarian. Every year he says, "well surely that's the end, no one will play it again," and every year he gets a royalty check, 'cause it's back again
