Monday is arbitrary and yes, majoritarian. It's torture for most but more than a few seven-day operations start individuals' work weeks on some other day. Suburban commuters may look forward with dread to Monday morning traffic but up here in the woods it's the weekender speedsters who pose threats. (We're below the Kirkwood resort so we call it the Kirkwood 500.) Monday and Tuesday are our quiet days. YMMV.
