i hate hospitals

Do you wear contact lenses? Probably not, or they'd have told you that scratched corneas are sometimes from wearing the contacts with dirt in the eye. At least scratches are common with hard lenses. I've had less trouble with the gas permeable lenses.

Welcome to the world of Emergency rooms. Last time I had to visit was with second close to third degree burns on my hand took almost three hours to see the doctor so he could order me two shots of morphine. another two hours for the specialist to come see me and another hour to get discharged. Of course by then I was so high on morphine I don't think I cared.

Sometimes not. You can do that easily by rubbing your eye when there's an irritant in it and it's something you don't immediatley notice, necessarily.

I hope you do better, soon, though (and Hi from a fellow Marylander!)

Yeah, anything with eyes sucks. When I was 2, I had surgery on my left eye to cut away some extra muscle. And in my right eye, I'm legally blind in it and have a lazy eye to boot. Ain't life grand. This and I have a mishaped cornea in my left eye so I can't even get contacts as my vision gets worse. And sure...Lasik or something like that would be great, but my optomostrist isn't too happy about that since I already have one good eye to begin with.

But I do get my stiches out of my wrist pretty soon, so I got that going for me, which is nice.
