I hate computers (rant)

Thirty minutes last night to download and install an update to one of my programs (was running about 3 or 4 versions behind the latest). At 95% completion, it gives me an error. I am missing a file and have to install a critical patch.

Another 20 minutes to download and run the auto install for the critical patch. It won't run.

Another 20 minutes to rip the patch appart and install the component manually.

Another 20 minutes to re-run the auto update. Finally works.

About 10 seconds to discover that the latest version isn't compatable with several of my hacked and modified files.

Another 45 minutes of fucking around to get the de-update program to work to go back one version. (No instructions, no descriptions of files... )

Finally works. Hopefully. I fell asleep before I could test it.

Computers suck.



Anybody know if my broadband connection will work with and abacus?

Gotta love computers. One of the few things where you can do everything you are supposed to do, follow instructions to the letter, make no human error, and the fucking thing still won't do what it's supposed to do.
