Went into my den to work on a few projects, Thing 1 and Thing 2 came down. Thing 2 wanted to play with my loose change. Thing 1 brought his soccer ball.

So we all sat on the floor and played catch and counted change for the last 4 hours.

Now, we are trying to see how many books it'll take to fill the file cabinet :D

I just wish they wouldn't play catch with the dumbbells

Awwwww sounds wonderful!

Listening to your tales about Thing 1 and 2 are very heartwarming. That you care as much as you do and enjoy them as you do is just....ummmm ....quick I need a word here! Anyway, I love it.

You may think that it is not out of the ordinary that a father feels such about his children, but I know that it isn't as common as it should be. :)

i know the feeling...thing 1 (no thing 2 yet) was at my bedside before i had a chance to wander to the den (or open my eyes), and has around and underfoot all morning

right now he's sitting under my desk, playing with an electronic timer that just drives me crazy

things are the best things in life, aren't they bob? it's what keeps us parents moving on

Bob, you know I love my wifes daughter very much, and when she wants to play ANYTHING, I'm always there too. Nothing ever stands in the way of family time, especially not work. (for me anyway).

Besides it's the weekend, work can wait until another day, or when the "things" are in bed. Enjoy them while you have the time this morning to do it.

I know I'm getting soft when I'm sitting here watching them mix my silver with my copper and it doesn't bother me (although I can't believe they'd do it...we are going to have to do another mailman check :D)

When the ultrasound tech first found them, I just laughed. I had no idea how we'd handle it, but I figured it would work itself out, and so far it has.

Now, you guys remind me about how appreciative I was when Freshman Year of college roles around and I have to write out a check big enough to buy a house in 38 states

Things 1 and 2 are running in circles and are oddly reminiscent of the Dr Seuss story!

Then thing 2....aka Monster Child....runs into me head first at full throttle, wrapped her arms around me and said "I love you, mommy!"

Hmmm another Calgon moment averted! :D

Believe me, the reference is not accidental.

We have rotweillers on the block that won't come near my house anymore...

LMAO :D

Are you suggesting you have "watch kids" rather than "watchdogs"? (DAJ)

No, not at all.

You don't need security when you have hellspawn living in your home.

Of course, at moments like this one, I would take the hell spawn and cuddle 'em close,

Their dad just picked them up for the weekend and I feel very unsettled. It will pass. I am not sure if it is the makings of PTSD or simply the sudden, eery silence!

Oh! I guess I am over it! Time for a long bubble bath :D

LOL

I've been waiting for the parents to come pick up these two for two years!

I live for naptime. My thingsare wonderful and perfect, but omg, they could scare the catholic right off the pope!

In my house, the only time it is quiet is right before the crash...
