for $50.00 at Walmart, for 5 years service at the hospital. (woo hoo, yippee..) I am going to try to use it wisely, instead of on reese's cups and dews. Any suggestions? What would you use it for? Come on, we all know you shop at wally world.

Oooo!!!! I would get myself some new sheets.... and towels or Ummmm a new shower curtain and stuff to match. Just dont buy CD's....nope no CD's at wally world.

Le Mart du Wal is EVIL, I tell you!

I have very rarely spent less than $50 on any shopping trip there. I am not a compulsive shopper, but do realize part-way through the trip that there are things I have forgotten to list

At the ones near my house, there are all sorts of little things on display I realize I need: skirt hangers, extra lightbulbs, a floor mat for the kitchen (this one is prettier than the one I have), I do need a new shower curtain (the old one is kinda nasty), oops need a dustpan (mine broke last week), and some vacuum cleaner bags, hmmm haven't seen this movie (yeah, why not and it's on sale). All of this above and beyond what was on my actual list.

Worst one was when I went in for a hair dryer (mine kicked the bucket that morning, so I was in Wal*Mart with my hair still half wet). I dropped $200 on impulse purchases (including new jeans, clothing, and an Oreo cookie jar), and realized when I got home I had never even looked at the hair dryers.

Even worse, in adition to the 7 Wal*Marts within a 20 mile radius of my house (I kid thee not), we now have two Super Targets, and three more in the works.

I'm going to be traveling quite a bit now, so I was actually thinking of putting it down on a really good camera. Unfortunately, I don't know much about them.

Sheets are good, but it's hard to put sheets on a bed that keeps falling down. (don't ask)

Video games I love, but the kids take over them and I get left out. Anyone know about cameras??

You can't go wrong with a camera.....I rarely leave home without mine.

I can help you choose one if you like, or the staff may be able to advise you as to which one is a good buy.

That would be great, Bindi, thanks. All I have is the dreaded Polaroid camera. Any suggestions you can give would be appreciated. :)

I just got a $25 gift certificate

to Pier One - haven't been in there in years! Not sure what I'll buy - maybe something just for me - or something for the new house - it was a house warming gift after all. Next week I'll make plans to go at lunch and have a look around - there's one about 5 miles from my office that I can get to and from on a lunch hour (just not sure I can get in and out of the store in an hour!)

It sorta depends on what your willing to spend....whatever you get though you'll probably want auto focus, auto flash, some sort of zoom (be it either built in or a series of zoom lenses), red eye reduction and easy loading of film.

I recommend the Canon EOS series, I have two of them and they are excellent for both the snaphappy photographer and semi serious hobby photographer.....spend more money and you can get yourself some nice pro camera's. They are dead easy to use (fool proof) and you can grow with them adding lenses and accesories if you want. They start at around the $400 mark (thats Australian dollars so you might as well halve that) and go to some incredible amount.....lol

Now that's a great gift certificate. I love that store. The scents alone in there keep me browsing around. Have fun, and let me know what you ended up getting. :)

I have actually seen some pictures taken by that camera, by a co-worker that went to the Bahamas. They were beautiful pictures, very clear and never out of focus. *Writing that one down*.. Thanks.

Deliciously Naughty, I know. I love my junk food.

Here's an EOS 300...retails for around $499 (AUD, so alot cheaper there....and I forgot that Camera equipment is a lot cheaper there than here too!). You can also buy them in kits - with a larger lens...very handy, and for not a lot more money too. If you could afford a kit then it would be the way to go.

That's a nice looking camera, and it's idiot proof, which makes it ideal. I can spend 10 minutes trying to take the perfect picture and I still come back with something unidentifiable. I am going to Wally world today, and will look at those. I am excited about traveling and seeing new places, and I want to make sure I have really good photos to share.

They do take nice pics. Here's one I took with mine two weeks ago....but it hasn't scanned too well - I have to add a new scanner to my wishlist!

Wow! What a great picture! I would love to see some more if you have them. I can already see myself standing at the check out line with this camera.

I have actually considered coming to Australia to work in the future. It's definitely on my "places to go" list.

If I were you...I would take a trip to Bratsville to spend it in the Walmart down the street from me...cause up here that $50 would be worth at least $75. :)

Like we would ever make it to the walmart.

Lol, I've got heaps of pics.....photography is one of my hobbies.

Lets see.....do you like pelicans? This one is a very bad scan though, its nowhere as dark in the real shot as it looks here.

I love animals, so any you post here of them will be loved. I am actually showing these to my 5 month old grandbaby as well. She is reaching out to them and smiling. She is going to be an animal lover like her granny. :)

Give the baby a kiss from me..I love babies - when they aren't mine! Don't forget to let me know how you go with your camera shopping!!!

I'll post a couple more...but I'll have to do some more scanning after that - I had a virus and lost everything on my computer and I haven't had a chance to scan too many pics since then....besides I have so many pics I couldn't possibly scan them all!

The first one of the last lot is a Greater Glider they are rare here..he's an orphan and I'm raising him until he can be released back into the wild.

Here we go again.....lol
