I get able bodied privilege.
At this point in time, I get age privilege.
I even get "received pronunciation" privilege.
-This doesn't give me a gauranteed pass, but I can see how it smooths the path a little. Especially with received pronunciation, where I can see a shift in attitude the instant I open my mouth, making it so much easier to observe.

I don't get male privilege.
I don't get neurotypical privilege.
I don't get wealth privilege.
-This doesn't stop me succeeding in life, but I can see the path is a little rougher because of it.

There. It doesn't make be a princess with a silver spoon, nor does it make me a sobbing victim. I'm not persecuted, either from the observation of the privileges I have or from the privileges a don't have.

Equality in law does not equal equality in society. Inequality needs to be addressed. Addressing an inequality isn't an act of persecution against the privileged.

...All of the above is true, but I may have posted it mostly because it will infuriate the grumpy old men of the GB.

You been watching the last leg?

I was born white. I didn't ask for it. I was born a male. I didn't ask for it. I am also tall. Do I get some benefits from that

Maybe so. I not going to feel guilty about about what society chooses to think.

Inhabitiant of liverpool, often downplayed by rival cities due to false stereotypes from godawefull 80's TV shows such as "Bread", "Boys from the black stuff" and "Brookside" depicting them to be thieves and killers, and enforced by the peasant underclass of youths known as "scallys" or "chavs" who are generally annoying cunts. while these can be found anywhere in the United Kingdom, some people live under the delsuion that they dont exist around them, and they are only found in liverpool.

Scousers are usually easy going, up for a laugh, and welcoming to outsiders, and usually posess a strong wit similar to that of the Irish, and Geordies, also loves a good party!

Asking that people be aware is not saying that they should feel guilty. I can understand how many hurdles face the homeless without hating myself for having a house and a car and a job. It's not a hard concept.

And I'm incestshire born and bred!
(But not inbred. That needed saying.)

I agree.

Edited to add

I was born that way. My race and gender was not my choice. Just like everyone else.

We all have opportunities and challenges, just different amounts of each. I have had plenty of privilege and have coupled that with focus and hard work.

Hate me because I am a grumpy, not because I am an old white dude. I am only responsible for what I can control.

"______ Privilege" is nothing more than caste envy.

Globalization is a mild form of socialism, with the predictable result of increased expectations amongst the have-nots, who now take potshots at the haves.
