I went with a friend who was getting a tat. It made me want one.

I have one to cover up on my arm and I'd like to get a small one on my foot.

Do you love tats or hate em?

Love 'em. Love their significance. I'm saving up for my big one.

You mean when they are raised up off your skin?

No, they have a distinct feel which happens to be unpleasant to me. My niece has one on her side. The big joke is to make me feel it.

Details, where and what?

I have a crescent moon on my left shoulder and a shooting star on my right. There's a lot of meaning there for me, but it's a long story. On my right foot is the Chinese symbol for empathy. It's what I strive to live by. But I do admit, I wish I hadn't gone the Chinese symbol route. It was all the rage at the time.

The big one I'm saving up for is an open birdcage with a bluebird perched contentedly on top. It will be in the middle of my back (I think...still not totally sure about placement). Bluebirds represent peace and growth. The open bird cage...well, I'll cry if I talk about it.

I love tattoos, especially on guys with the right attitude ;)
But I think it looks cool on women too. I have two tattoos - a small one on the small of my back and a bigger one on my shoulder. The shoulder one hurt like hell, and that, plus the cost, stops me from having more.... for now.

I love, love, love them.

I have several pieces and I'm always trying to finish more.

instant turn off. i think they make people look cheap like trailer park trash. a woman's body is a work of art so why ruin it. you would not paint over the Mona Lisa. i simply abhor the tramp stamp. the lower back is so sexy and to cover it up in ink is a violation of all that is holy.

but that is my tastes and opinion.

Love them on women. Not so keen on the male tattoo. Same with jewelry.

I have 4...2 are very significant to me, the other 2 are very old and need re-done or re-colored...
The date I met my adopted son under my left collarbone with the infinity symbol... and the date I adopted my daughter same place right side with pink infinity...
All 5 of us got the same ink or a variation of, together...Me, Mrs E, and 3 siblings all got the date we finally met my oldest son...I added the one for my daughter at the same time...
These are after the image I posted yesterday in the chest thread...I should retake that, I guess...
The 2nd 0 is not mis-sized, just came out that way in the pic...

I love ink that carries so much meaning. You know how amazing I think your tattoos are, and what they represent in your life.

I  ink! on guys and girls.

Though, it has to be either really good and accentuate the body part where it is located, or there has to be meaning behind it. I find those that have just odd random shit inked on their bodies without rhyme, reason or meaning to be just plain stupid...

Personally, I would ~love~ to get more. If society was as accepting of ink on girls back when I was in my early 20's as they are today, I'd have much more ink than I do now. Even though I'm only 35 right now, I would no longer get ink just for the appeal factor. I would however, gladly get ink (or a brand) that has meaning behind it for me and Mine.

Gawd. If I didn't think I would get odd looks, I would probably have a lacy, filigree style 1/2 sleeve wrapping up and over my shoulder, across my back, down my side and onto my opposite upper thigh. Along with several other smaller tats located at various spots...

Not to mention probably snake bites piercings (along with others not seen) and possibly even some dermals in various places.

Yea, I'm an ink lover trapped in a soccer mom world. LOL Meh. What can you do...

Ink is one of the most personal expression one can make, IMO. Most people that I know have great meaning in their tattoos. There are stories that we want to carry with us. I know that mine have huge meaning and I also know that most people don't care. :)

I've also been the lucky recipient of a very close minded male tell me that he hated my ink after we'd had sex, I didn't bither warning him that i had it because all of mine can be covered. These days I am only interested in guys who aren't tuned off by it.

Another yes vote here. On women, Sonny is especially fond of the side tattoo these days.

The only ones I've ever "felt" on the skin after the fact were from crackerjack boxes. I think someone was fucking with cookie.
