A few of the headlines:

Penny postcard gets one vote in the House - seems that they will stay at $.10.

Joan Kennedy says she will campaign for her husband, Ted. It must not have been enough.

The Dow closed the week at 874.15.

Rookie Dale Earnheart returns from injuries suffered in a July crash to win the pole for Sunday's race.

Man pleads guilty in drug distribution case. They're still selling dope in that part of town, too.

My old high school lost its season opener in football. Nothing new there.

I've been packing stuff for 4 days, and I can't believe the relics I have uncovered.

They're gutting the house next door to where we are working. One never knows what will turn up.

I always leave a paper inside a wall when we redo one. The issue inside this house is one with a big beltway sniper story.

I always wish I could find one with a paper from the teens or twenties. We did a house one time with a stack of magazines from the twenties. The ads were fabulous. There was an article with about Eugene O'Neill right before "Desire Under the Elms" premiered in one of them.

Only off by tenfold. But I do remember the hoopla the day the Dow broke 1000.

Thats a cool informal time capsle idea.

I've been known to write a bit of commentary on the side of a 2x4, too.

The guys loved my drawing of a camel and jockey in a crosshairs that I left in the house we were doing in September 2001.
