Got some info at ellisisland.org. Found a photocopy of the ship manifest, and his original old world name, and included info on his age (4), who paid his steerage, who picked him up, etc. I used the info to find a photo of the same ship he sailed elsewhere on line. I blew the photo up and you can see the immigrants on the decks.

I love the Internet.

Oh wow. Dixon that's an excellent present idea!!!

My Grans mother came in at Ellis Island, I'll bet she'd love it if I could find a picture of the ship and frame it for her.

I wonder if I could find a picture of the donkey my great grandparents came over on. Not only transportation, but a lovely meal while they waited to cross the river.

LOL

I doubt they took a picture of it before they feasted on it.

I found some of your kin at neanderland.com along with the town register. A few of the pictures showed different families in front of their caves.

I love the net.

I'm going to check that out, see if I can find some of my Irish relatives that came over in the late 1800's. Thanks Dixon!

Thats very cool, as nostalgia always is. I enjoy learning about my heritage, and all the stories along the way.

Are you going to show us?

I like seeing old photos depicting historical moments...
