and sent my story back in and it got sent back AGAIN!!! AHHHHH!!!!! Why you ask? For Age! I read in an article a while back that the average age girls lose their virginity is 13 or 14. So, I had my character lose her virginity at 14. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Thats under age sex and not aloud in Lit. I should have realized this on my own. So, I changed the age to 18. Now, I am crossing my fingers and waitting. STILL!!! LOL Wish me luck.

Virginity ....

Hey there! I wanna know where that article got its info! LOL! Most of the girls I know lost their virginity at about 16-17 ( still below Lits age 18 rule). I didnt lose mine until like 7 months before my 18th birthday! Then I was considered the good girl in my group of friends, boy if they knew me now! artical I read was back about 15 yeas ago! LOL I heard the age has unfortunatly gone down since then to like 12! No joke! Sad isn't it. My mom works at a health dept and has to hand out condoms to these kids. And she said sometimes they seem even younger than 12. Sad very sad. I'll let you know when and IF my non-consent story comes out. LOL

I believe it about the age being down to 12 , Sadly a lot of girls are figuring once they bleed they are old enough to handle sex. Then when they get knocked up they cry and expect handouts from the welfare system...which of course they get!

With my husbands job, we have medical insurance that requires you to take a parenting class once you have a positive pregnancy test, it doesnt matter if you have no kids or 50 kids. I honestly believe that these parenting classes should be a neccessity for EVERYONE who gets knocked up!

Im not sure if we can attribute underage sex to our society being so sexually charged, or if its because parents arent dealing with the facts of the sex with their children. Either way its sad that children are having children, because it hurts both the parent and the child!

Yeah, it says something about our society when we can write about kids drinking, taking drugs, or even getting killed but not about them having sex. I'm currently reading a book by Dean Koontz called "Watchers" where a hit man kills a 16 year old boy along with his parents (the father was the actual target). Kind of disturbing, but it illustrated how ruthless & cold this man was.

Not that I think we should have stories with sex acts involving eight or nine year olds, but the subject of mid- & late- teens finding and exploring their sexual identities is so much a part of normal life that it's almost a shame not to be able to write about it.
