...and it was one of the saddest movies I ever saw :(

Pretty good though. And it raises some interesting issues.

I saw the title of the thread, and thought "Wow, hey, me too!" Then I saw who posted it. LOL

Are you over the general sadness yet?

I saw....

about half of it at the drive in. However, we got a bit distracted and had to leave *snicker*

I really do want to see the rest. :)

I would of asked for half my money back. I'm just the kind of guy that likes to get what he's paying for. BUTsex comes before movies. I'll give ya that.

It would have been far mroe poignant if they cut off the last half hour. Better to leave him in the ship - more thought-provoking ending, in my mind.

DON'T READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT AND WANT TO!!!

Thought provoking, maybe, but really fucking depressing! If I wanted to end it sooner, I would have ended it when he first jumped into the water. Then I could at least assume he malfunctioned and "died" instead of praying to a fake fairy for eternity. And we could still be left with the issue of creating something capable of such powerful emotions and our responsibility to them.

That's ok. I'm just an IDIOT!!!!

I want to see it, but that's ok that you spoiled it. I should have stopped reading on the word "ending." My STUPIDITY is calling. So it's MY fault.

Damn, I'm sorry nasty!

It's hard to talk about interesting issues without giving anything away...

It's definitely worth seeing.

No big deal. I still wanna see it. Here's a tip. If you wanna talk about a movie, type the word Spoiler, than hit enter about 10 times. That way, no one can read it. Or you could of put the last sentence of the post before the spoiler. But, as I said, it's nothing. My mind told me to stop, but curiousy made me move on.

SPOLIER!!

Well, I admit that there was one point in the story where it SEEMED as if it was going to end - namely the part when he's praying to the blue fairy.

Everything after that, I thought, as it continued, was going to be a tribute to Americanized endings. But it wasn't even that! I mean, the writers go to all the trouble of creating cool looking robots that can create humans out of thin air, and the writers just HAVE to mar it with a caveat that they only last one day?? Why? Was it supposed to be "realistic"? It sounds just malevolent to me :(

I agree that it would have been better if they had just let him jump in the water and left it at that. Maybe with a sort of unknown ending. At least we could have consoled ourselves hat MAYBE he would have washed up on the shores of some sympathetic land...

i liked it but it got abit too daft near the end ... i would of liked it if he died looking at the blue angel ... call me cruel if you like :) ... on the whole i thought it was a very intresting and thought provoking film different from the usual hollywood films and a nice tribute to stanley kubrick one of the best directors of all time ... i bet kubrick had it ending with the boy trapped :)
