. . . during a surf contest

I am so sadistic and cruel aren't I.

The kid was on Television this morning who had his foot bitten by a shark. He was so arrogant that he did nothing wrong.

Then later on in the story he says that they could see all the sharks from the beach, yet they still swam out to surf. He even went on to say that they were jumping over sharks in order to get out to the waves.

If they could see the sharks and they had to jump over sharks, and they still went out, In My Opinion they might as well pined a "BITE ME" sign on thier back. They deserved it.

the sad thing from it all the kid siad he would do it again. with same circumstances. So apparently he didn't learn a blessed thing.

Let em swim with the fishes!

That was what I was thinking.

If I play on the highway and get hit by a truck, do I hold the truck responsible or do I hold myself responsible?

Hopefully I hold myself responsible enough to realize that playing on the highway with big trucks is a bad thing.

With all the shark attacks down there in florida, You would think those three boys would have enough of 1 brain between the three of them to realize "UH, there are sharks out there, maybe we ought to stay out of the water", But they opted to check their brains at the beach.

Since you don't say, I'm guessing they were teenagers. And like almost all teenagers, they believe they are invincible. The publicity is just adding to their natural feelings of egocentrism and invincibility, so sure they'd do it again.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.......

Remember when I jumped the shark?
Me and Cunningham?
Those were Happy Days.......

Late teens early twenty's by their looks on CNN, I did not hear thier actually ages, sorry.

I have to agree with Todd on this one.

After the attacks, do they cancel the contest? No, they move a mile down the beach! Apparently Nature isn't thinning the herd fast enough.

I'm with Todd as well.

Sharks deserve to fucking eat just like any other animal, and fresh surfer is one of the most nutritional meals around.

Lean meat, those surfers. Toned, lean meat. High protein, low fat.

I wouldn't swim in Florida for all of Bill Gate's money.

Would these people qualify to be in the Darwin Awards? I think so..........weeding themselves out of the gene pool. (At least trying to anyways.........)

you have to wonder???

Do surfers taste just like chicken??? Happy eats to all the sharks out there.

I couldn't really care about anyone who becomes shark food, there is a food web going on here and humans aren't on the top like we think we are.

But what really pisses me off is the knee-jerk reactions by the publc and media who think we better kill all sharks because they will come ashore at night and take your children. There is over a 100 species of sharks and only a handful are meat eaters.

Did he ask for sympathy or pitty? Sounds to me like, for all that he's a bumb surfer, he knew the risks and decided to go with it. Cest la vi (sp?), didn't work out, but we wouldn't change it either.

Not to say have any sympathy for him, though perhaps a litte pitty. It's so nice to hear when people refuse to give what wasn't asked for, thanks Todd et al.

but who pays the price????

The problem with the situation is that these boys take this risk knowing that they may have to pay a price...fine it's their choice BUT what about the price to the sharks? when someone gets seriously hurt because of this attitude, will the sharks be allowed to live as they are meant to do or will they be hunted or forced out of the area? what price is payed if these shark really start to see humans as a food source. Then who pays the ultimate price?

wow

that is just bad to get bitten like that.they knew it and just got bitten.too bad for them.they may not get off so lucky next time.

Honourable Mention at most. They don't die, they don't win. And the smarter of the world were rooting them on in this contest. Their surfing seems to have been forgetable, something about the only thing that they said that was memorable was "Eat Me" which, it seems, some animal took literally. Did anyone pass the poor shark some Pepcid?

Yeah and you coined a new TV term.
When an TV Series is said to have jumped the shark it means they have reached the lowest point a series could ever go.
