Yes, ladies and gentlemen of Literotica..........I feel like a chicken who just had his head chopped off.

I am a statistic of the current Economic times in US of A. Friday at 5 PM, I was given my walking papers from my long time job.

No hint, no clues, no idea it was coming.

I got piss drunk Friday night and got the "venom" out. Now I am off to search and find a better job...........for a better way of life!!!

So much more to say.........but not sure how to say it.

When the going gets tough, Chuckus gets going!!!!

Chuckus, I feel for you man.

The last time I got fired, was on a Monday morning at 8:30am. Why not fire me before I left on Friday? Sick fucking bastards. They even told me they'd like me to stay the whole day if I would be kind enough. I didn't.

They had the gall to ask me if I was going to go on "one last" jobsite visit (which would have been today) and I said "NO".

The Exec. VP was cool about it, even wrote me a great letter of recommendation, they said it was a "forced lay off" but I know what that means, it is just an excuse to "fire" someone in a kinder, gentler way...............

Thanks Lob.

Dude that bites! I am so sorry to hear about this. I'm sure it is just a doorway to something better. Good luck to you! You'll bounce back and be on top again in no time, I'm quite certain!

Thanks Dawg...............I am already off and running in the Job Market. Made several calls and most of the people were pleasantly surprised (and glad) that a person of my skill and competency was available............so I doubt it will take me very long to find the job I want at the Salary I want!!!

Did they tell you EXACTLY what the reason was for firing you?

They simply told me that they didn't feel like our working relationship was where it should be. WTF does that mean?

I didn't push for an explanation, I just gathered my things, and left out the back door. Didn't say goodbye to anyone but one person that I saw while leaving.

It's HARD to get a new job in the U.S. for lots of people. Some of us are prepared for it, I was through dumb luck of managing my finances, others aren't so lucky sometimes.

Chuckus, I am sorry to hear what happened.
I wish you the best of luck finding a new job.
May it be better than your last one!
I'll keep positive thoughts for you.

Side note: good to see you around the board.:)

UGH!!!

that totally bites. Those assholes!

I will kick their asses for you, Chuckus. *Hugs*

Yes they did, current Economic situation. I worked for a Steel Fabricator and for them anyways times are tough........

It was not for anything to do with me or my work ethic or anything I personally did, it was purely economics.

The Exec. VP wrote a letter of Reccomendation stating exactly that and that I was an "exemplary" employee who was valued but due to the current economic conditions some choices had to be made............he has always been straight up with me.

In fact, he gave me some Numbers of people he knew were looking for someone like me!!!!!

Well, I have made 10 calls this morning and out of those, 5 were in the office and all of them said they were going to check their schedules and get back to me about an interview this week!!!

So it appears as though I am off and running well.

As for the job in MN, unless I absoulutely have to........I doubt it. They made an offer a while ago and I turend it down (not enough $$$$)

I have my chin up and looking in all the right places, apparently.

*hugs to Chanaud*

Hey- you will come out on top and get a better job. Hang in there man and don't let it get you down. Keep your chin up and be like a Seminole. :)

Chuckus,

I'm so sorry to hear you have become a victim of force reduction.

I hope you find something soon. If you need to talk or if I can help you search, please let me know. I've been through this scare so many times and even been laid off myself years ago. It really bites.

Check your PM's dear. :rose:

Thanks Riff, I knew I could depend on you to tell me to be like a Semen-Hole!!!! LOL :p

Little update for you all,

I have 2 interviews today and 1 tomorrow.

The one tomorrow is for the job I think that I would really like, it is essentially doing the same thing as I was doing but with my previous employers direct competition and for alot more $$$$$ (they say $$$ doesn't make you happy but it sure doesn't hurt either!!!!)
