MagicaPractica said:I shared my first story with a couple of my roommates and they loved it. It was mostly romance with sex so it wasn't that far from reading a trashy romance novel. Don't think I'd share my id with many of my friends. There's one I'd consider telling but I haven't done it yet.![]()

I always make people look for my stories now.
Two years ago I printed out one of my stories for a co-worker. She knew the kind of stories I write. I explained it carefully but she claimed she wanted to read one.
I fucked up, I brought it to her in work.
She read it and was offended by it. She then turned it over to my boss who has a problem with males being in Nursing.
I was written up for this. I almost lost my job.
I learned a lesson. (Actually a couple.) My private life is completely seperate from work. I don't hang with my co-workers. (With a very few exceptions) If they get interested in my writing I tell them how to find my stories, but they have to work for it. They can't claim I forced them to read it. (One of my stories is quietly passed around on my unit, often given to the younger female cancer patients.)
Then again my boss, well we wont get into that on this thread.

But I also include graphic violence in some of my writing. No one is upset when a cannon destroys ten men, but they get very angry if you depict a sadist beating a female. One female reader went ballistic on me when a female character got some rug burns from sex on the carpet.
