I just posted a story called Hostess and described it as a wife feeling neglected by her husbands poker buddies.

I've gotten some very negative comments about the topic. I understand that not everyone finds this topic appealing, but why read it and leave a negative comment if it's not your thing?

Any insight?

Loving wives? That category comes with a substantial peanut gallery apparently.

I'm sorry you got that for your first Lit experience!

For some reason, the "loving wives" category is a hellhole of angry men. It doesn't matter what kind of scenario you write; someone will hate it-- not because of your writing or story, but because, we think, because of their own teeny weenies.:(

We'd love to get that category split split up. We haven't had much success with the site owners, though.

Thanks for your insights, but it was not posted under loving wives, but under group sex.

This was my second submission, so I'm still new. I guess this just goes with posting stories. I have seen some negative comments in the stories that I've read, but not this bad.

Some of the comments can be cruel to the point of including death threats and the like. Don't sweat 'em, really; they don't know who you are, and they're mostly hot air anyway. You have the option of deleting comments if you like, and vitriolic emails can be flushed down the drain. Don't let them bother you.

They really need to post a warning on Loving Wives. Choose it as a category and get a big box that says "Warning. Infested with trolls. Proceed at your own risk." It might save on some of the collateral damage.

Welcome Joee. The LW readers are working through their own issues. It's not a reflection on you, your story, or the quality of your writing. I noticed in your case that it was a Group Sex story, but the comments are straight from the LW playbook. You can find one of the trolls in action if you're feeling especially brave today. http://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=648666

As others have said ... if you're happy with the story, don't worry about comments. Keep keep plugging (in more ways than one  ) along.

Trolls will be trolls. That and what everyone else has said sums it up. Welcome to Lit and the AH and don't let the trolls get to you, if you toss them some raw meat every now and then, or simply ignore them completely, they'll eventually find someone else to feed off of.

Although, sometimes it is fun poking a stick at them when they're particularly entertaining.

Everyone seems to be ignoring the part where he said it was Group Sex...

Welcome to the AH.

For the first story or two that I posted here, I got email comments telling me that I was a hopeless writer of s**t. When I kept on posting stories, the insulting emails stopped. I guess there is someone out there who is afraid that any new writer on the board will somehow be a competitor who must be frightened off. If you don't frighten off, he goes to pick on someone else.

And like the others said, welcome.

Actually, Joe and I both pointed it out up the line. But if you go look at the actual story, you'll notice that it's on the line between group sex and LW, featuring a couple and his poker playing friends. The comments at the end have a distinct LW troll feel to them. It does serve as confirmation that the LW crowd is ever vigilant for stories that might offend them though.

Thank you all, that helps. I am very new at writing and this was only my second attempt ever.

Joe, welcome to Lit. and to AH, I have one story posted, In group sex, I got so many negative comments, and nasty e-mails. I thought the readership had an open mind! Shit! I did the one thing I probably shouldn't have done, I pulled it and edited it to suit the readers comments. Every thing's OK now. If it had been poorly written, bad spelling or grammar, yeah I'll take it, but it was purely the content of the story seemed to piss everyone off. Live and learn, keep on writing!

I hardly ever hear of anyone doing this. Personally, I think it can be a great learning experience. How did you feel about it-- did your edits make the story better? or different?

You know Stella, I did learn something from this, I learned people are not to open to a husband sharing his wife with another man. Even in a fictional scenerio, They really take these stories to heart. I also think many authors write in the first person 'I', that in itself seems to really personalize the story even more. So I edited the story to suite the readership, comments became positive, and my scores began to rise. It never did better than 4.10 not bad I suppose for a first story. I will in the future try and depersonalize my copy somewhat, just to kind of say hey people this is fictional! Thanks for being intrested in the musing of a abby-normal brain cell:cool: Please feel free to read it, then we can talk more:p

Won't help with the "she's a diseased cheating whore and you're a wimp!" crowd, I'm afraid. There appears to be a firm belief that anyone who could write something like that must be practicing it in real life, no matter what you say to the contrary :p

I guess I must be quite the convincing writer, huh,Dark, it's just crazy

I couldn't find your stories

Austin8, Where are your stories? I looked, but couldn't find them.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I feel welcomed here.
