A friend of mine was arrested earlier last week.

He got out after a few hours and the charges were dropped.

Apparently it's illegal to have a fire hydrant in your possession.

He says it makes a really smurfy bong though.

not only road signs

but those bright orange road construction signs.. or those saw horse looking things with the reflective flashing lights.. Those are really hard to hide in a car..

My god.. they have like a billion of them. What does it matter if you steal a couple of them?

Oh.. and one way signs.. never steal those in broad day light.

And if you steal a stop light.. make sure there is no traffic on the road. It's impossible to work around traffic..

Hey it's public property. We are all members of the public right? So it's are stuff. Excuse me now, I need to go to the arsenal and steal some Maloxx.

LOL excellent reasoning..think it'll hold up in court?

Last time I went to the liquer store the guy commented on my having 2 drivers licenses. Apparently it's illegeal to carry your old expired one in your wallet with your new one. That was news to me! Can you believe they would give you a ticket for something as stupid as that? *Sigh*

Actually some cities sell old signs, firehydrants, parking meters ect.. I have an old 1960's era parking meter I bought from the city. I love it, it's one of my favorite possesions.

What fun is it if you buy them? ;)

One of the most popular signs to steal............Interstate 69..it runs thru Indiana.

THAT'S NOT THE BEST OF IT

If you get into an accident and smash your car into a fire hydrant or traffic light, you get to buy and own your own fire hydrant or traffic light. In other words, you'll be paying for it. But that doesn't mean that you can paint it another color or place it on your front lawn.

As for as your post is concern, why shouldn't your friend get arrested? A fire hydrant is property of the city, not any individual.
