Why did you start doing it?
In what form did you first do it?
Did you get hooked immediately?
Could you stop, even if you wanted to?
Are you proud of yourself because of it?
I'm not talking about doing drugs, smoking, drinking or even having sex. My questions are enquiring about how/why you got into writing erotica.
To answer my own questions...
Why did you start doing it? It all started for me because my hubby asked me to write some 'sexy stories' for him. He told me I had a wicked mind and should tap into that imagination and write some stories. He had faith in me long before I did. I wrote that first story and got a massive buzz from the writing process and the result.
In what form did you first do it? I wrote a very short story in the first person. The characters in that story were a married couple, loosely based on Adam and me. I've re-written it a couple of times and it is now in the form of Living the Fantasy Ch01: A Welcome Distraction, posted here at Lit.
Did you get hooked immediately? Yes. After that first story I quickly wrote six others, all based on those two characters. Very soon I began broadening my scope and wrote some other stories in different genres, mostly horror and erotic horror. This is when I really began to tap into my creativity, in that I mean I was more adventurous with my character and plot development. At that point, I believe, I became much better at story telling.
Could you stop, even if you wanted to? Nope, I feel it's part of me now. It's how I express myself and literally stop myself going insane. I don't want to stop. I want to take it as far as I possibly can.
Are you proud of yourself because of it? Yes, very. I think I have found something I'm actually pretty good at. It has given me an immense feeling of self worth and self belief, like nothing else before.
That's all pretty deep, but I can honestly say I love writing, especially erotica.
What about you?
Lou
